Is there such a thing as a compact or subcompact hammer-fired DA/SA single stack .45 ACP pistol? I'm not interested in carrying a cocked-and-locked SA or a half-cocked striker fire action. External hammer preferred, but not absolutely required.

Either current production or previously made if abundant enough to find one eventually.

Currently still made is pretty much the HK45c or USP compact. I don’t think they still offer a PX4 .45 in compact.

I very much like the HK45c, easily the best shooting small .45 I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a few (officer 1911, Sig 245, Glock 30 and 30s, M&P compact, 320 compact, Shield .45, and I think one or two more. Edit: Sig 250 compact).

A little on the heavy side, but the S&W 4516 is a really stout TDA compact. They will take 45 super. The hammer is bobbed, though, so if you're wanting one with a spur, you have to swap it out or go with something else.

I had a CS45, nice gun, but they're blockier than the 45xx series. I sold that but still have my 4516-1, 4566 and 4506. The 4566 is my favorite of them as a range toy, the Commander length barrel makes it a better balanced suppressor host

AMT DAO .45 is probably the smallest. The DAO is not striker fired... it has an external hammer, although it's flush with the slide.

Ruger P345. Bersa Thunder .45.

That Bersa I sold off. Magazines were expensive, and I had some parts breakage. This isn't the current model.

Pics of a Bersa, next to a Detonics .45.

Another vote for the HK45c.

I have two P30SK pistols, one with the V1 trigger (DA/SA) and the other with the LEM trigger. I like them both, especially the triggers.

This thread got me looking at the HK45 which is available DA/SA or with the LEM trigger. I like it, it might be worth upgrading from 9x19 to 45 ACP.
