Rhino Big Horn Safes.. Anyone have one?

Does anyone have opinions on these safes? They look to be better constructed or at least have better materials than the Brownings. They use 10 ga steel rather than 12 ga steel and have high fire rating. I hear they are made in China rather than USA; dunno if that makes a difference. The company that sells them is based in USA. They are lot cheaper than the Brownings and have thicker consturction. I am not sure if they are worth buying or are they known to have any problems?

Anyone have any other brands they prefer? I was thinking of getting one under $1200 and it seems some decent size Big Horns are in that range. I heard 12 ga safes are not as secutre, because all it takes is a fire axe to open them, although I don't know how practical it would be to do that in real life.

Yeah , well I am debating between Big Horn or Sturdy. I spoke with a1abdj and he told me that the Big Horns have good construction and use good thick materials despite being so cheap and imported.

Its hard for me to say, even just looking at them , I would have hard time knowing the mechanics and the durability facing an attack. The Sturdy Safes do look like a lot of bang for your buck, but as I was discussing with some other people, they are inferior in regards to their fireproofing capabilities. However, fireproofing is not really my biggest worry; I think I mostly want the safe for theft protection. I guess I will just take my chances. If a fire happens I got worse problems anyway; hopefully my renters insurance or something can cover me in that scenario.

I know from talking to the people at Sturdy Safes that they put a lot of effort and thought into their safes and they would take lot of effort for the average methhead or snatch and grab burglar to get into. I liek that they have super thick steel. I still don't quite, all featuers being equal, how a 10 gauge safe can outperform and 8 gauge safe. ALso, the Sturdy Safes have superior deep welding jobs which I think most other safe manufacturers in this price range take for granted.

Also, what exactly makes the Big Horn a piece of crap? I know its made by CHinese for cheap labor and usually they put lot less effort into their work, but I cannot say they all are like this.

Anyhow, I don't have $3,000 + for one of these bulletproof safes. I suppose I just want to keep the dumb criminals out, not the pros. More likely than not, no pro is going to waste his time with me anyway.
