awesome family you got there.

question:

how does that sks' accuracy compare with the ak

ps. that m44 is about the nicest one ive ever seen. bet its loud too!!!!

accuracy is about the same when used in semi-auto, maybe a little (.5?) with the sks , but if you shut the gas-valve and use it like a "bolt action" the accuracy is better....about i can get around 2/3 inches at 50 yards with my AK and SKS and 1/2 when the gas-valve is off in the SKS.

i'll do some accuracy test on them next time, todays shooting was in the AK/SKS match but i didn't shot the SKS, i'll do a side-by-side test next time.

All look nice except for the Jiminez. But otherwise your collection is missing a nice revolver.

i know....right!?

i have never liked revolvers but after handling a few and shot some other...well i think i may get one...i just cant decice on what....a new model or a cowboy style..."maybe one of those that look like a rifle.

the jimenez stood up for 200 rounds in a role the same day i got her, before ever make it to the safe, i "think" they are doing a better job with them because it has work fine so far, but she like FMJ not HP that's why she's a range toy and not a HD/SD weaon.

ETA:
Oh and I have to agree that your M44 has a really nice looking stock.

Thanks!

it was from a small unissued m44 from Aimsurplus like 2 years ago.

i just pick that because i wanted to see how bad the really were... but so far it's on 200 rounds and counting... ;) but i hardly shoot it. i use my glock and 1911 more

this makes a lot of sense.

im surprised how seldom that comes up when talking about accuracy in those rifles.

we have a short little norinco sks (paratrooper i think) that has the ak magwell from the factory (i guess its from the factory, it was new in the box that way)
Picture278.jpg

i can never get it to shoot any better than 3-4" @50yds, but that thing is so much fun to shoot its not even funny!!

(did that make sense? "so much fun its not even funny"?)

anyway, its fun.

how are you shooting it? if you are resting on a sandbag dont place it too far in the front, try to rest it right in front of the magazine, another thing... shoot "consistent" dont shoot 2/3 rounds and wait then shoot 3/4 more...

try this... shot 3 rounds off just to warm the barrel, then shoot at your target with 5 sec between shots, the reason for this is that when you shoot in a time patten the heat is somewhat the same

bang.bang..........bang........bang.bang........bang.bang.bang................bang.. that keep the barrel from keeping a consistent cooling or heating temperature causing accuracy changes....

bang.....bang.....bang.....bang.....bang..... that keep the barrel at a somewhat consistent cooling/heating temp and the accuracy is about the same "if you do your part, keep in mind to rest the barrel far bank and not at the barrel or handgauad.

give it a try and let me know, it works great for me, it may work for you

nice collection. i have the ak and my cousin has an sks. i can shoot my open sight with better groupings than he can with a scope. what i came to find out is if you let the barrel heat up, accuracy tends to fall. (constant shooting and yes their barrels get really hot just after a few rounds) i also believe his barrel is worn wheres mines is newer...

trigga as long as you're shooting the barrel WILL get hot, then it'll cold itself down they key is...... shot at a rate of fire so that the barrel dont get too hard or it cold itself bellow the previous shot....
