Winchester Model 70

I just bought this gun from a co-worker:
Winchester Model 70
Caliber-.270 Win
Scope Leupold 3x9x50mm
22" barrel
SN# G202xxxx
The stock,scope and barrel are all camo.
I've did some searching but came up empty handed, can anybody give me some info.

Looks like a home-grown job to be...no further comments...tryin' to stay "high-road". :)
 
Made by USRA sometime after Winchester folded it's tent in 1981.

No telling what it was under the paint job.

I can't tell from your photos if it is a push feed or a claw.

Either way, it is a 270, has a good scope, so take it out and shoot it.

It should do fine.

Just don't drop it in the woods, it will be hard to find. ;)
 
Thanks guys, the guy I bought it from told me it was a present from his wife from about five years ago (she doesn't know he is selling it:uhoh:). The stock is synthetic and the camo job looks real good, every thing except the bolt was camoed. My almost 12 year old grandson will have a hoot when he sees the gun.

SlamFire1, I'm new to the Model 70. What do I look for to see if it is push feed or a claw.

Or prop it up on tree.

If the bolt looks like this it is push feed...

If it looks like this is is CRF...

...A picture is worth a thousand words.

Contrary to popular belief the push feed is generally a stronger design, the CRF is slightly more reliable and more desirable in the Win. M70. :)

That's a nice-looking Model 70! Thanks for posting the picture. Now take it to the range, and punch some targets, then post the pictures.
