I went to the gun show in Concord N.H. this weekend.
Got up around 6 a.m. and left about 45 min. later for the 1.5 hr. drive south, pulling into the Everett Arena around 8 a.m.
The parking lot was already filling up (opened doors at 9 a.m.) and there was a good crowd forming at the door. The line quickly wrapped it's way around the building and started out back.
Ammo prices: Still too high, but plenty of selection. It looked as though a lot of dealers were just trying to unload lots of the "old stuff" to make room for the new, but the prices were rough. Everything in the 20 rd. boxes ranged from $11.00 to well over $20.00 depending on what you were looking for. Even hand-loading materials and brass seemed terribly inflated. No primers to be found anywhere
There were a TON of "black rifle" sales to be had....looks like the AR shortage was over. Lots of AK's and SKS's too...
Handgun prices were still WAY over-inflated, but there were at least a few great deals out there, which indicated to me that the dealers were willing to take a hit in the wallet a bit to stimulate interest/business. Overall it's what you'd expect though.....esp. for the higher end 1911's, Kimbers, Sigs, etc.
A few hours later I made my way back up to Whitefield N.H. to the Village Gun Store. The owner told me that he was having NO PROBLEM calling in the forms on the state line and the woman said "Yeah....there's a ton of people at Concord today.....everyone is there and walking around BUT NO-ONE WAS BUYING anything!!" They had very few calls coming in for checks...*hmmmm* It seems like people are still being very cautious with the $$$ but at least looking. ENJOY!!!!
