Very cool! And finally, a 10/22 with a decently sturdy scope mount!

Ol' Bill must be whirling in his grave.

Ruger "gets it."

They've been America's premier manufacturer of projectile toys, for decades. They were slipping.

I know that the 10/22 fanatics don't believe it, but most Marlin 60s will shoot that well.

However, those are the best groups I've ever seen from a factory 10/22. The extended mag release is something they should include with all 10/22s, as well.:)

I like the idea a lot and in fact was pretty excited when I saw this on the DRTV blog. But that a steep price point right now. Put it in the 300-400 and it can compete with other quality .22lrs

Not really their idea.

I've had a .22LR AR for a while...

Well you gotta give em credit as their platform is way more refined as a dedicated .22 than most of the conversions you'll find that will cost darn near as much if not more and can be iffy propositions at times.

Heck the S&W rifle is going for much less than an upper. Plus the bolt holds open:D

Wow let us see. For +$500 I can get a new Ruger SR-22, which is basically a new look for an $180 rifle, that only has 10 round rotary factory mags.

Or

Get a GSG-5 , A S&W MP-22, A colt .22 AR

the original 10/22 was a decent rifle, but today with their plastic trigger group and so-so accuracy out of the box, they are not worth the $180 stores charge for them.

This is putting lipstick on a pig.

If Ruger shipped it with a factory 30 or 50 round mag that was reliable. THEN RUGER WOULD HAVE GOT IT!!!!

I'm not talking about conversions. Standard .22LR uppers have not proven to be "iffy" at all.

haha i find it funny that now ruger s&w and colt all make some type of an ar in .22lr (if u consider the sr-22 an ar type .22)

Not a conversion, an upper, is about $500 as that thing is equipped.

I didn't say it's cheap, just that it's not an iffy proposition. They work quite well. Whether or not that's a good deal depends, mostly, on what you have in your lower. If you have a $200 buttstock and a $200 trigger, you get more bang for your buck than if you lower is bottom-end military style.

Well, given the similar price I tend to err on the side of owning another complete gun than just an upper.

As you can tell I want one for those M&P15/22's

I haven't ever bought a whole AR all at once.

I find it strange that people do, and stranger that they'd want a .22 lower that doesn't quite fit on a regular upper, given the option of interchangeable parts.

What's strange about it? All my uppers have dedicated lowers, there's no need to interchange.

I'd buy a complete rifle in a second when it's cheaper than a upper

As much as I try, I can't see the point of this rifle.

Don't get me wrong, I love my AR15, and I love my 10/22, but that's because one of them is POWERFUL and ACCURATE, and the other one is LIGHT and HANDY... this is neither.

I bought a GSG-5, built a 10-22 target rifle, and I'll probably have to buy one of these, doesn't seem out of place at all to me either price wise or in the looks department.
