I chrono'd some loads last night to try something new and got a great competion load, standard deviation about 3.2%. I am packing and getting ready to go on a business trip, and find myself being pulled to the reloading machine to work up this new load for the Gator Classic at the end of the month, when I have NO TIME to do it. Then I realize that I won't be able to reload until Monday night at the earliest and get sad.

Is this a problem? Should I see a therapist?

I agree Casting is a whole different addictions. I do mean addictions. There is casting, making lubes, and hunting for lead. Throw in reloading and it makes for an unhappy wife.

If you're retired she's just as happy to have you out in the loading room for few hours every day. Gets you out from under her feet. :D

I *just* started reloading, 9mm for starters. Did my first 500 last week and now I'm having withdrawals...no more bullets!

I believe reloading to guys is what crocheting is to the ladies. Theraputic, calming, relaxing, fun.

Join the club, I started reloading about 2 months ago and that's what I look forward to on the weekend cause I get more time to reload then compared to the time I get during the week.

Yep,

The lovely wife of mine just hangs her head low and shakes it pitifully when I jump out of the car at an intersection to pick up a wheel weight. My reply. "Well, you're the one who spotted it... Thanks Babe, keep looking".

Webster wouldn't lie... would they??

bent my decapping rod this week from being dumb :banghead: and can't wait til my replacement part comes in. I didn't understand why my turret press wouldn't turn all the way around. come to find out it was because the decapping rod and decapping pit were catching on the press. opps I'm an idiot:cuss:
Been reloading for about 2 months now and yes addiction is the correct wording.

I have bought molds and/or dies for calibers that I didn't even own. Then had to go buy the rifle/pistol since 'I already have the molds/dies'. Does that suggest a problem??

Hi, my name is Bill and I'm an addict too, to reloading, casting, lubing, shooting, collecting, cleaning, polishing, trimming, reloading - oh wait -- I said reloading, I meant buying gun stuff, and -- and -- help me - I just can't do this anymore -- I -- I -- I don't know if I should be here. I'm leaving to go hug my press....

Mym name is Slim and I'mn an addict also.

My wife has sed for years the only reason I shoot is to give some brass to reload. HEE! HEE! HEE!

little does she know I have thousands of brass just waiting for me.

My problem is I go into the shop and when she sees I am gone, she start hollerin!

Now casting is whole different story. When I fire up the pot, she is right there with HER ladle. I figger I need abouyt 300 rounds to last a while but not her, 1 K minimum, more if she can.

I guess life ain't too bad......

That's Normal....

What's wrong with that? That's normal, everybody does it.

Don't they?

ch,

Any home rolled round that gives you a S.D. of less than 5 is supposed to be one that has potential, that 3.2%'er could be a real winnner.

But your obsessive, compulsive drive to develope it farther could be a defintie symptom of OVERLOAD, which is a malady that afflicts humans after long periods of contact with modern smokeless gun powder.

Recent studys on the subject show, only multiple sessions in contact with double and single base nitrocelluose powders and cast iron or alluminum vapors can reduce these symptoms. I stress the term reduce, as the malady cannot be reversed, only alleviated, once exposed there is no permanent cure.

More info can be on this subject can be found in MODERN RELOADING SECOND EDITION By RICHARD LEE, HORNADY HANDBOOK OF CARTRIDGE RELOADING Volumes I, II Fifth Edition.:D

My name is Tom; I am a reloader.

Step 1. I have come to realize that I am powerless to control my urge to reload.

Let's have an on line meeting. ;-)

PROBLEM? I don't have a problem!!!:neener: Everyone should reload for fun and relaxation.:D

STRESS :banghead: No time to reload if I take time to eat, sleep, and work some.:what:

I'm so addicted to casting, I don't have much time to reload or even to shoot anything. :what: I cast up all the lead I had available and started eyeing the wheel weights on the van till I got called in for dinner. In the last 2 weeks I have cast over 5k of 45's, 1k of 44's, and 500+ .54 balls. Not really a problem except I have nothing to shoot them out of. I don't own a 45, 44, and I have switched back to the .50 barel this year. I have an extra 3k of 38's lubed and ready to load but all my brass is full and I don't have a 38 anymore. :banghead: I just bought(and started prepping) 1500 pieces of 223 matching headstamp brass because it was cheap. Guess what, I don't have a rifle for it either. Almost forgot the 3k pieces of 40 brass prepped and ready to load, and guess what.......? No 40.

It's about to switch over to the reloading addiction again. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Waiting for my progressive press to come in the mail.

The crack cocaine of reloading

Tom

Postman just delivered my new turret press, powder measure and primer feeder. There goes the weekend!

Pray for me that I may not be found sprawled starved and dead across my reloading bench.

Tom

I know a couple, including myself. I got some .44 Spl cases in a trade. I just had to get a .44 SPl, yeh, had to. It worked out well though. I love the .44 Spl.

I am hooked on shooting, reloading, and THR. It's all good. :D
