At first I was about to give up on my Yugo SKS because it was freaken heavy and the metal detachable mags that I had for it was useless. But recently, I purchased five 20 rounder Tapco mag, and I cleaned out my Yugo fully. I took it out to the range, and it functioned flawlessly with no hiccups. Those Tapco mags literally brought my Yugo SKS back to life. And I've also recently discovered that there's a special feature on my Yugo that I didn't even realized until someone at the range told me. I could actually turn off the gas valve and put it into single shot mode. I had my Yugo SKS for like 4 years now and I didn't even realized this mode. It actually helped improve accuracy a tad bit. It was awesome. As for the 20 rounder Tapco mags, it was actually easy to reload with other mags because it would always leave the bolt hold open after the last round. I could reload as fast as my AK or my AR.
You know, the more I look at my SKS, the more I realized how well built it is. It's quality is actually much better than the AKs that I owned. It was milled, and the parts were flawless. The more I think of it, the more I'm beginning to love it more than my AK now.
