OK, now I'm not a hunter, but I'd LOVE to get me some o' THAT action!!!! That would be more fun than shooting rats at the dump!

About as sporting as shooting fish in a barrel.

Ok... so they are "hunting" from a helicopter... why bother wearing camo??? Just funny to me....

looks like alot of fun but a big waste of pork. Even though I know how distrutive they can be..

I hear that only the small ones are worth trying to eat. The big ones, especially the big, mature boars, are rank and nasty tasting. Then there's the whole trichinosis thing. I'm not interested in eating wild hogs, thankyouverymuch. Store-bought pork is just fine.

What's not real about it? There was one pig, towards the end of the video, whose abdomen exploded from one of the shots. It's kinda hard to fake an exploding pig on a YOUTUBE budget...

I don't doubt that it is cold up there I am just saying that it is amusing... Camo is associated with stealth and blending in to your surroundings...

And besides, the guy on YouTube must be lurking this board, because he posted something about it very shortly after I posted...

Those are some of the most domesticated looking feral hogs I have seen. They must have a lot of accidental releases going on there.

There's nothing funny about using underpowered weapons for dangerous wild beasts like hogs. Anything less than a .338 Lap mag and you risk a deadly attack, that is if the hog even knows it is hit with such a puny round as the .223.

Somebody has to go out and clean that crap up, old rotten hog will plug a bailer or swather up beyond bad.

The reason they were able to nail so many hogs is because of how effective their "camo" was in the chopper. Pigs probably never saw them comming

I do not believe you are correct. I believe if you research the ballistic capabilities of the .223 (5.56 Nato) you will find the the penetrating capability is quite capable using the correct bullet. I think that is why the U.S. Military uses this caliber.

Well let's see..it's not sporting, not ethical, and most certainly NOT hunting. Why is this even allowed in the hunting forum? Sickening, disgusting, not worthy of being linked to from the High Road hunting forum. Not even close.

And moreover, why are these idiotic farmers PAYING for this, when they could let actual hunters on their land who would pay THEM to take them out? Plenary stupidity normally only seen in Washington DC and New York; places like that.

Dr. Tad... I'm not sure where you live, but in texas, hogs are destructive, and many "farmers" don't want to deal with the coordination of 45 hunting groups when one day in the helicopters will kill just as many pigs.

Maybe these "idiot" farmers are paying for this because the hogs will destroy 30X more in crops that what the costs are to kill them like this.

Maybe "smart" farmers would spend months of coordination, deal with dozens of people coming onto their land, introducing the liability of these hunts, and killing MAYBE the same number of pigs, if they're lucky or a 2-3 month period, while the hogs continue to destroy crops in the meantime.

as for it not being "sporting or ethical", I'm always glad to see people that are ready to determine what ethics are for everyone....
