Okay, Finally i got my WA/ CCW permit today!

i was expecting normal card size. but omg  paper is huge!!

about 3.5" x 4.8" geez.

i wanted laminated and put inside wallet, but i guess not. haha

also thinking about fold it half then laminated. (still not fit):cuss:

How you guys carry it yours? fold 3 times? :banghead:

I have four CCW's from four different states and all are plastic cards. It seems odd that your state doesn't issue the same thing. You might want to scan both sides, place them back to back and laminate them, assuming it would be legal in your state.

oh iam sorry, its only one side.

found picture on google. (this one has been folded, because it has more info on the bottom)

true, and training with gun is more important.

but yeah... at first i thought i have to wait more for real Card.

i carry very small card holder/wallet. god this piss me off...hahaha

???? Isnt it perforated, and you separate it from the main paper? I did that, folded it in half, laminated it, and stuck it in my wallet with everything else. (I have a laminator but Staples will do it for cents).

I also made 3 copies before I laminated it, and laminated those....for spares :D

Yep... training and more training.

Hehe! I got one of my renewal CPL's jammed in the laminator at a Kinkos once! I calmly approached the clerk and was like "uh... your machine is jammed." I was hoping that it would pop open like a printer with a paper jam, but no such luck. He wanted to put it in the back room and call me when their maintenance guy fixed it. I told him that the document was leaving the store with me, one way or the other... and it did.

I agree, it's expensive enough. You know what?! The CPL flag comes up with your driver's license anyway, so why don't they just treat the CPL like an endorsement? They are both useless without each other anyway, so how about just whipping out your DL?!

Really, I'm not even sure exactly why they make us carry the CPL around in the first place...

Whatever you're carrying, stay out of crack town!

Did you leave the store with the machine? lol

Thank you for great info's iam new to the Guns.

I did not know CCW shows on my Drivers License. Because i remember reading somewhere, when you get pulled over, i should give officer my CCW card and DL at the same time. i would anyways.

Tomorrow iam going to make a copy and laminated.

i dont want to fold my new fresh one. LOL

just one more question then.

In WA, It's okay to carry copy version?

I really dont know, I made the copies to be on the safe side, in case my wallet was stolen. I'll have to see if that's in Dave Workman's WA St. laws book.

Kang if you dont have that book, I highly suggest you pick it up. It explains all the state gun laws.

My state's CCW is just an endorsement on the driver's license. But the system is out of sync -- driver's licenses expire every 6 years, CCW 3 years. So I got a separate "non-driver's license" that's cheaper.

Cool, if i have time after work, i will stop by. (book store is on the way home)

Is the book Updated? i mean some books are out of date.

It's printed every yr and it's a glorified pamphlet really. I dont know if bookstores carry it, but gun stores/ranges probably do. That's where I got mine. Or at a gun show. Have you checked out WAC (WA Arms Collectors)? They run most of the WA st shows.

I looked at my watch and suggested that he go find a screwdriver.

Informing an officer that you're a CCW holder is not manditory in Washington State. Though it can be seen as a courtesy, what... do you have all night to waste on courtesies? He already knows you have a CPL when he runs your DL. Just keep your hands on the steering wheel, let him write you up, or give you a warning, or whatever, and then be on your merry way... unless he asks you to exit the vehicle. Then I would say it's prudent to politely inform him.

"Before I exit the vehicle, I would like you to know that I have a Washington State CPL and that I am carrying at this time. How would you like me to proceed?"

I think it is good advice not to use the word "gun" in this situation. If the officer is a rookie, or is backed up by a rookie, this can make things stickier than necessary. If the LEO asks for clarification, spell it all out.

"I'm sorry, officer, I thought you would be familiar with those terms. I am licensed by the State of Washington to carry a concealed firearm. I am informing you, for your safety and mine, that I am legally carrying a firearm at this time. How would you like me to proceed?"

I only inform an officer that I am CCW if he asks me to get out... and, of the few times that has happened, I've had about a 50% "have a good day, sir" response. The other 50% was the whole "okay, just keep your hands visible and slowly exit the vehicle" followed by "now place your hands on the car, so I can remove the firearm."

I actually had to give this old revolver-toting Alabama cop pointers on how to clear a 1911.

you really must carry a tiny wallet. I just slide my behind my Navy iD in my wallet. It fits fine. My card was laminated when I renewed it.
My wifes was laminated when she recieved it. But we live in Kitsap County.

Point of information. You have a Conceled Pistol Permit

around here anytime you get pulled over you're asked to get out of the vehicle...or at least everytime i've been pulled over i've been asked to get out of the vehicle...as have all the people i hang out with

I was thinking of an enterprising method whereby the carry license would be silk screened on a T-shirt that my busty wife would wear, but then I'd need to take her everywhere I go!

Right now it's in my wallet - laminated.

The problem with not carrying the ID comes into play if you travel with the firearm to another state. If your state has reciprocity with the state you are visiting and you don't have the permit you could be in violation. You have to be familiar with the visited state's regulations as well.
