I would recommend a CZ-75 single action. The single action only model is one of the best values and a damn good pistol.

In addition to the CZ-75, you might also consider the Browning Hi Power in 9 or 40.
I personally don't care for DA/SA guns, but correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the CZ-75 DA/SA version could be carried "clocked and locked", much like a 1911? In effect, this would basically make it SA with the option of DA/SA carry.

Different trigger mechanism. If you want a pure SA trigger, skip the DA/SA model as the SA has a long take up on that model.

That pretty much narrows it to a CZ-75 SA, BHP, or 1911.

I bought my first Browning Hi Power this year, a MK III.
I have 1911s and glocks.
I can not explain it but it is just the nicest pistol I have ever handled.
I absolutely can not put it down or stop shooting it, it feels perfect in my hand and shoots extremely well for a stock pistol.
Do yourself a favor and at least handle one.

Get something used then...Hard to find a full sized steel single action pistol NIB for less than $500 which after taxes/shipping creeps to "almost $600".

Much less take up, more crisp.
I would say its about 40% better.

Then you can forget a new Hi-power, the go for $800
A new cz should run you between $500-600.
You best bet is to find a used gun then.

Care to talk about the trigger camming? All stock 75B CZs in SA have this problem. When the hammer is cocked in SA mode, the hammer will LIFT or move as the trigger is pulled. The only way to get rid of it is a trigger job by a good smith who knows CZs. Trigger jobs on DA/SA CZs are very difficult to do correctly.
It is not a deal killer but it is there. Funny how you complete ignore this fact which effects every CZ except newer models like the P07, yet point out issues that may or may not come into play on a BHP.

There are SA only like the X5 Tactical but they all have a aluminum frame and a price tag of about $1400+

Hope that helps with your question. The SA model has a different trigger mechanism. I do realize half of the reason for your post was because someone pointed out flaws in the BHP.

No my point is to talk about guns. My ego is not intertwined with the pistols I own or don't own. They are simply tools. Do you believe that the CZ 75 SA only does not suffer from camming?
