I will take the day off and make the drive. We need to come up with some real arguments though... ones that will even appeal to the antis. I am not talking about "it is our right as Americans... blah blah blah". I am referring to more tactful appeals, such as the drastic fiscal consequences the state will suffer for a negligible or non-existent change in crime rates. We should also remind them of the vastness of the CA gun/ammo industry, and that the state will lose billions in tax revenue when people merely decide to buy ammo at the gun show in Reno instead. Also, we ought to point out the numerous adverse effects this will have on consumer/supplier relations for the local law enforcement community as many firms in the gun/ammo biz are closing their books to CA.

It would be pretty amusing if it got repealed before it even takes effect.

I hate it here in California, im boardering the criminal path just to own my guns as it is. how did this happen? or should I say how did I let this happen... I can't make it to Sac sadly, but I will get some flyers printed out on my end and plaster my town with them.

NRA FOR LIFE! god bless

I was born raised and lived in CA for almost 40 yrs so I do know a little bit about CA politics.

One of the main reason the marijuana bill is being considered is 1) So many already use it and 2) it can GENERATE a lot of $$ for the govt... and the govt loves taking you $$ especially in the financial mess CA is in.

opps sorry, I was thinking about the potential bill to stop unloaded open carry but the basic concepts of my post still apply
So.... part of your case should be based on those two things AND the fact of 2A.

Use statistics from other states, hopefully states that did not allow CCing until recently that show:
1) That crime did NOT go up.
2) Crime went down
3) That CC permit holders were NOT any significant contributor towards crimes commited
4) How much money the other states generated from the permits
5) Statistic of approx how many gun owners are in those states as compared to how many (hopefully) MORE gun owners are in CA.
6) How much MORE money could generate than those other states based those #'s
7) How its you 2A right (this was left last because CA doesnt really care about your rights (guns or otherwise) ... they care more about money and getting re-elected)

Good luck!!
