My buddy is hunting a gun belt. He has never used a gun belt always tried to use a regular belt and it rolls under. Here's the catch he has 60" waist I use an aker but they only go 48" and will he still have problems with it "rolling under" I guess an 1 1/2" on 60 " would be different than on 38" Any ideas Yes it really is my friend not me

Healthy waist to height ratio is about 50%. I hope your friend is about 10 foot tall.

ya know how some stories start " I got a friend who" anyway thanks for all the imput. My buddy doen't have access to a computor and the ones at work have most sites blocked. This one is

A waist size >40 inches (35" females) is considered a significant health risk... this guy shouldn't buy green bananas much less the expense of 60 inches of good leather. Try walking a few miles with your friend to help him shed a few pounds... if he can't walk that far he doesn't need a holster.

Beltman would be a good choice:

9. I'm a big guy, what if I lose a lot of weight?
Don't go punching a lot of new holes in the belt! Send the belt back to us and we'll shorten it from the buckle end. The charge for this service is $15 a belt and includes the shortening and return shipping. Any dual-layer bull hide belt can be shortened TWO inches, FOUR inches, or anything six inches or more. They cannot be shortened three inches or five inches. (This applies only to the standard dual-layer bull hide and horse hide belts. The "no-buckle" belts, taper belts, and exotic hide belts cannot be shortened.)

So if your friend slims down in the future, he doesn't have to buy a whole new belt.

The Wilderness Original Instructor Belt might be another option. I'm not 100% sure it'd be stiff enough, even with the CSM liner, but it'd be about half the price of 60" of leather.

Speculating about a stranger's health needs is hardly the topic, and hardly high road.
We need all the "pro gun" people we can get so keeping them healthy or encouraging them to become so with subtle hints is a very high road thing to do.

You want to lose your buddy, follow this advice. I'm a fat guy, and I feel like I know a bit about this subject. Nothing worse than somebody skinny reminding you that you don't measure up to their yardstick.

If he brings it up, encourage him. Otherwise, assume he's an adult and has had an earful from almost everybody else in his life. You don't need to pile on.
