LMAO. That's perfect. I just had a belly laugh. I'm in there trying to change the pics from .pdf files. They came to me in an e-mail. I don't know who did it or the entire story or from where it originated.

I bet they have been posted here on THR 5 or 6 times in the last couple of years.

I believe I've seen this pictures circulated before. Different stories popped up ranging from "my brother did this..." and "look at this guy" which neither story provided information to be "cautionary" to any THR folks.

Snark aside without information you shouldn't try to pass off pics of an incident as though you know what happened when you DON'T.

For all you know the Kboom in question could have been the result of a bad factory load, poor metallurgy, an intentional destructive test or any other number of things aside from sloppy handloading practices.

Here's a tip The entire worldwide firearms community gets the same FW:'ed emails you do. You're not getting special inside information if it comes to you in a forwarded attachment.

The title was meant to be humorous. I didn't suggest that I had any inside information or that I was in any way connected to the photos.

Now go take your pills man.

Seriously though, don't post pics to reloading (especially about catastrophic failure) when you have no idea about the source of the pics or cause of the failure.

Why exactly?

IF I had fixed the pics and IF I had followed them up with a question, something like "what could have caused this" would it be appropriate then. Still no knowledge of the source of the photo.

Always a few of you preachers that would prefer to impose you're personal agendas on the forum rather than have a conversation relevant to the original post? Why not just let the moderators moderate? From what I have seen they do a killer job at it. Why not turn a post like that into a "what not to do" thread or share a personal experience seeing or hearing of a similar catastrophic failures?

A question about what could cause it would be a good inquiry. At the end of the day, these pics have no known or documented relationship to reloading per-se and additionally no connection to any common mistake made during reloading. I guess I read your thread title to mean that we have to concentrate whenever we're reloading (not be distracted). True enough. But the pics don't demonstrate that. All they show is a blowed-up gun.

This is exactly what I would prefer NOT to read about. I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I hate to have to sort through all the "I heard about" crap to get to the real data. If it happened to you? Fine. Write about it. If you "heard about it"? Then some of us would prefer not to read about it. I "heard" you can use mag. primers any time you want. I "heard" that you can load 38spl cases to 357 power. I "heard" those pics were from a double-charge. See what I mean?

Because the Mods are overworked and underpaid - and despite the awesome job they do, it's up to ALL of us to keep things on-track around here. That's why all the posts on this board have the little "report post" icon. While your attitude in response to some of the posts here hasn't been the best, some of those other commenters should have used that icon if they had a problem with this post, rather than dealing with it in this thread.
