Entirely their choice. That said, I would never give so much a cent to a firearms store that will assist you in optaining your CCW permit, but will not let you exercise it.

It's their store, their policy. Nothing "wrong" with it.
But, I see 3 bullet holes on the glass door. Maybe some ccw guy was pissed about the store policy.

Not really, in Florida only state law can prohibit concealed carry in places open to the public. So in effect, a licensed concealed carry permit holder can legally ignore the sign.

Conceal Carry in Canada

I am in Canada and just got a licence (possession-acquisition licence) or PAL for restricted and non-restricted firearms. In this country only police,military and security folks can carry a gun around.For restricted firearms (handguns with a barrel over 4.14 inches long),I had to pass two written tests, have a police investigation into my good character, wait two months and pay $80 CDN. Conceal Carry Permits are impossible for the average citizen to get,I don't have a problem with that. To own handguns in Canada you have to belong to a shooting club and have a permit to transport them to and from the range, again I can live with that. How does this compare with the laws in the U.S. and elsewhere?

Skinny: Not much worse than some states. In free states, you can go in buy the pistol with a 3 minute background check put it on your hip or your coat and walk out.

A popular local gun/sporting goods store in town that has a shooting range has in huge BOLD letters.... "All weapons must be cased and unloaded except law enforcement".

At the local sheriff's range they will go into a MAJOR tizzy if you walk in the office where you have to sign in with your range bag.

There is a sporting clays club north and west of Daytona that sells guns, gunsmiths, etc. and does not allow loaded weapons inside per the sign on their door.

It's YOUR choice to spend your money where you please.............

I think the bullet holes are fake - they look like bullet holes in metal like on a car - but it is a glass door, so they seem to be those decal bullet holes for cars.

All too true. I was once reprimanded at the Sheriff's Dept. range for firing too quickly even though all of my shots were on target.

At least they allow open carry.

At least the sign does not prohibit open carry as long as the gun is unloaded I guess though too which defeats the purpose of ANY kind of carry.

i hate places like this. I guess I would just not go in there or just conceal carry anyway since they wont see it. But I will respect them by buying guns elsewhere and never under any circumstances use them for training purposes.

To each his own. To me, however, firearms are not only a means for fun and for putting food on the table, but also a way of defense. Our right to keep and bear arms is based on that: defense. Defense against foreign enemies, and against our own government, should the need arise.

IMHO, it is a shame that the people of your nation are not allowed the God given right to defend themselves against those that mean to do them harm.

I recognized that shop immediately. I've been there several times while I was living there.

I fully understand why they have the sign. It's the same as "no loaded guns" signs at many gun shops. That's to keep people from manipulating loaded firearms in the store causing a ND. As we all know, gun shops are a place where manipulating firearms outside of an environment that is safe to shoot are common. Many people who do so, do so unsafely.

You will notice if you have been there that you will never be searched or asked if you're carrying. They really don't care if you're carrying but they don't want you to take it out and show it to them. Concealed means concealed.

Why would you care if we name it if you post a picture of its front and tell us it is in Daytona? It's the first thing that comes up when one googles "gun shops in Daytona".

Ugh, I know the shop all too well.
I can almost understand the policy but the shop is my least favorite in the entire greater Daytona area.

I once got a bag of 7.62x54R from them and it had a 80% fail rate. /Facepalm.
And the staff is none too friendly either.

I went the with the vote with my wallet deal and I've not spent a dime nor stepped into that establishment since.

Just to alleviate that issue:

Here's the problem, concealed or not concealed - idiocy happens. When you own a gun store, the instance of someone doing something stupid and putting a round where they shouldn't isn't a matter of if but a matter of when.

I belong to a private range. It is a cold range. We had three people shoot themselves in one year. We have rampant amounts of vandalism. We have shotgun slugs being shot at the trap house. The level of stupidity is unbelievable at a PRIVATE range. The last time I was at a public range, someone had his 6 year old daughter with a Glock 17 and he was PROUD that she shot it. Note: She hit the ground and the wall.
