H110 and W296 are real fireball-makers, along with rifle loads using H335.

Edit: It should have been H110/W296. Next time I post I'll be sure to actually read my notes, not just dust off fuzzy memories.

I don't find that to be true at all. As a matter of fact W231 is a fairly low flash powder IMO.

W296/H110 is probably the flashiest powder I've used and Power Pistol is close behind as is Blue Dot.

Just about any powder and any bottle neck caliber shooting a 10" Thompson Contender.
Winchester 680 is a good one in 30 Herret for a fire ball at dusk.

um, like light a fire, or out the barrel, cause some people here have opined that flash is nothing but wasted velocity.

Any powder or powder volume (charge) that doesn't burn almost completely before the bullet exits the muzzle.

Example: a 7.62X54R round through a Mosin Nagant M91/30 and the same round through a Mosin Nagant M38 or M44. Former little flash, the latters flame thrower flash.

wonder if I get get x54 blanks, just to see how big a ball flame my 44 could through, also, some heavier loads in 7.62 tok are known for their fireball.
