I'm in the market for a nice 9mm pistol. I have my eyes set on either a Browning High Power, CZ 75B, Beretta 92FS/M9, Glock 19 or Stoeger Cougar (In no particular order). I've owned a CZ 75B, Beretta 92 and Glock 17. I have handled and shot all of the mentioned and I like them all. My favorites of the listed are the Beretta 92, Glock 19 and CZ 75B. On average, what are the usual/ballpark prices of the aforementioned guns? I would be happy with any of them, but I'm trying to spend as little as I can. I'm looking to spend not much more than $350-$400. If anyone with ownership, handling or buying experience can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I paid $369 NIB for my Stoeger Cougar 8000. You will NOT get a better value then that. The EXACT same Beretta Cougar 8000 sold for close to $700 NIB when they were made in Italy. The Stoeger is made on the same Beretta machinery, under Beretta supervision in Turkey. Even the mags that are supplied with it are Beretta. Stoeger is owned by Beretta

If you haven't done the research on the Stoeger Cougar 8000, I suggest you do. You will not find a better handgun for the money.

I paid $419 for my Stoeger Cougar 8000 F 9mm at Bass pro Shop. $449 for the .45 ACP if you're inclined to go that way.

I found a used 3rd gen G19 for $400...Is that considered a good or average deal?

Not a bad price. The wife and I were at a gun show last weekend, and used 19's were ballpark around $475-$550, depending on gen, and condition. Another company to consider is Kel-Tec. The wife picked up a PF-9 while there, NIB for $250. I was skeptical until she got it home and shot it. for the money, Kel-Tec is a wonderful pistol. It was accurate, so far flawless in funtion, and its ergonomics arent bad at all.

The Browning Hi-Power is out at that price range. Even used ones go much higher.

At that price point, I would like to suggest the Ruger SR9. I have 2, one I keep in my truck at all times, the other is on my wifes side of the bed. The slimmest 17rd capacity 9mm you will find anywhere, accurate and very reliable.

That sounds right. However, I have seen used Glocks in the high $300s where I shop.

The Blue Box LEO/Military Glocks (9mm/40) run about $399 new. Look for LEO trade ins.

For new, the Stoeger is a great alternative. For carry, it's a touch too thick and heavy.

For the 92FS, there are places that have LEO trade ins. New runs you mid $500s.

No experience with CZs, I just don't like the styling. It looks like a Browning HP meets Beretta. But then again, I take my ugly Glock with me to dinner and a movie.

The nicest 9mm I have shot are the Sig P226/229 and the Beretta 92 FS INOX.

I would take a look at these, TGS is having a great sale on them right now.

SigPro SP2022 9mm $399

The 2022 has always been kind of a redheaded stepchild of the Sig family, but I think you would be hard pressed to get more gun for your money at that price point.

And-

Sig P250 Compact 9mm $399

The P250 looks like a damn good deal as well, but when I buy a Sig, I want a DA/SA with decocker, not a striker fired pistol. They are supposed to be excellent guns though.
