What is the better sight in distance for this round fired out of a 7.5" Super Redhawk with a 2x scope, 25 or 50 yards? Does anybody have any trajectory tables or graphs that compare the two? The purpose of the gun is for deer hunting with the maximum range of about 75 yards. Plan to use CorBon 300gr +P ammo. Thanks.

300 gr. Corbon is sorta "overkill" for Whitetail(?).

I would sight in for 50 yds. if your max is 75 yds. Don't have books with me but i doubt you'll be over 2" high or low at 25 and 75 yds.

I would imagine the 300 gr. Corbon is pushing 1300 fps from your 7.5" barrel.

What factory cartridge would you recommend?
If you're taking 75 yard shots, sight in at 50 yards. That way, your rounds will hit less than an inch high at 25 yards and less than three inches low at 75 yards (the 300 grain load will be half an inch high at 25 and two inches low at 75.)

For factory stuff, I'd recommend the Cor-Bon 335 gr +P load. It features a cast-lead slug with a wide, flat nose leaving the muzzle at 1050 ft/sec. Sure, it's not that fast, but whitetails fall to 255 grain rounds leaving the muzzle at a mere 900-950 ft/sec . . . the heavier, modestly faster, bullet will be good for deer much bigger than whitetails. I've found that the Cor-Bon 300 grain load tends to make a lot of thunder and lightning and has quite the snappy recoil.

Sorry, I have no factory recommendations for you. I haven't shot a factory round from a hunting firearm in 20 years.
My preferred Whitetail load in .45 Colt is a 265 gr, WFNGC @ 1100 fps. This cast bullet has a large meplat and slaps the crap out of deer, with substantial penetration.
Deer are thin skinned and not heavily boned (read hog). They are not difficult to dispatch.
