Howa m1500 ultralight barreled action in 22-250, boyds jrs stock, Leupold vx2 scope and a couple of normal groups. Group on left is handloads, group on right is hornady loads. I admit I pulled two shots from each five shot group.
Sorry bout the feet! BTW the sheets are flannel, its manly. :p

Bell & Carlson A2 stock

EGW 20 MOA

nice rig, I will be building something very similar soon off a stevens 200. How do you like that stock and the bushnell scope? I have had bad luck with the bushnells in the past but never had an elite series.

Thanks. Post some pics when you're done with your build.

The Bushnell is very good for it's price range. I think they are closing them out right now so it would be an even better deal. It's as good as or maybe a little better than the Nikon Monarch. I have another one on a Rem 700 .223 that I setup like the Howa.

For long range and/or target shooting the stock is great. For hunting or long treks it gets pretty heavy.

Fair enough. I will post pics when I am done. I am going to do everything myself. I figured up that my build will weigh around 9.5 lbs. scoped so it will be for targets and wheat field style hunting. May have to get the bushnell 10x40 elite 3200 mil-dot.

Ok it will save me money over my other options. It will have to wait till long after the build is done though. I have a pentax to use for now that I really like.

People tell me I am too young to know anything about guns. I will be 24 in a month. What do yall think?

wish i was 24 again. that would be nice.
i'd rather know a lot about one rifle than a little about many. it's to the point that i think i have forgotten more than i know sometimes. my real problem is that i like them all. maybe more than i should.

JD will be along shortly. i respect his thoughts on Howa rifles. i'm sure he will have some nice pics.

keep up the good shooting.

Thanks! Hope this JD catches my thread I love seeing pics from devout followers of their particular brand.

I bought the same model scope that G27RR has on Amazon about 2 month ago for $550 (Bushnell was selling it from their site for over $1,000 and most other places were selling it for $700) The thing about Amazon is that they have a system which will raise and lower the price based on the number of hits a particular item gets. I love the scope, it is the first high quality scope I have ever owned. It is clear, and bright and the image is crisp.

I don't have it anymore, but here is my old Howa 1500 Varminter Supreme Thumbhole. Swift 6-24 scope. Being load tested with 40gr Nosler BT's and H-335. I ended up at 3/8" groups. Loved the rifle but needed a more handy one for the brush.

gdcpony, that is a sweet Howa w/ boyds stock! I just ordered the same stock but in nutmeg for my blued 24" .308 varmint. Once the stock comes in (3 week back order ;( ) I will post pics to this thread.

Well, after following your adventures on another site, if a certain bully there is to be believed, you're nothing more than a wet-behind-the-ears, uninformed, college know-it-all, whipper snapper from Texas. And just wait until bigstick sees those flannel sheets! :neener:
But I know better and find your choice of a Howa rifle and the Leupold scope reflects your knowledge of guns in a good light. I assume your groups were fired @ 100 yards? If so, nice shooting! And you can write that down...:D

That rifle convinced me that every bolt gun I own must have a Thumbhole stock. In fact, I have an H&R Ultra Slugger with a Boyds TH stock in Forest Camo too. I just ordered a Featherweight one for a .257Roberts in Royal Jacaranda, and a Varmint TH in Nutmeg for a future build of 7x57Ack both on 98 actions.

Now, I just need the money to finish the build on the latter.

Fair enough that's a nice gun.
My wife told me no more than one gun per caliber. Since I wanted a short AR for the 'yotes my g-hog gun had to go. I might get another someday, just in another caliber. It was the best most accurate factory rifle I have ever owned.

Thanks swamp-wolf, and it was a hundred yards. Truth be told that gun and I have shot better groups than those but those were the ones I had on hand.
