Value of a mint P7M8?

Hello guys,

Okay, looking at a P7M8. The gun is like new, immaculate condition with no wear and no milling on the slide. '94 production gun. Gun comes in box with matching serial number, manual, cleaning brush and tool along with the original unfilled warantee card, 2 mags and looks absolutely new. I am not sure if it has been fired but cannot find any indications that it has.

My question: What is something like this worth?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Thanks for the help. I have seen a couple on Gunbroker and they can vary greatly so that is helpful.
 
I would not pay > 1100 for as NIB one. Factory refurbished surplus ones even if with box, manual and test target are worth substantially less.

I think you might be confusing this P7M8 with P7 PSP German LE trade-in guns currently on the market...Which I believe are going for ~$800
 
Last one I looked at sold locally for $1500 it came with box papers and two 13 round magazines. Local shop had one last week listed at $1800 w/o box but in top shape along with EIGHT 13rd magazines. I think piano fingers or baseball glove size model is quite a bit more expensive then 8 round version. When price compared to something like FN 5.7 these are a bargain.
 
If it is coming with 13rd mags it is a P7M13, not a P7M8 (8rd mags). The P7M13's go considerably higher than the P7M8's from my research and one with 8 mags at that price realistically isnt too bad. I agree with some others that one of the P7M8's in this shape should bring more than $1100, but what you are willing to pay, what someone may ask for their weapon and what the market value of that weapon is may all be different things. I wouldnt really compare the P7M8 to the FN 5.7 seeing as the 5.7 has substantially more capacity and fires a very different round as well as being a much different weapon system. Having said that, I would love to get a 5.7!!! :) I do appreciate the input though PabloJ. I am curious you said you would pay $1100 tops on a P7M8 in LNIB condition but also stated that you saw one locally go for $1500, is it just not worth it to you or is it that you feel the price was too high? Ok a few things to look at before making this purchase..Color of the slide?Is it plum in color or black like the frame?The left grip has markings on ot?HK P7? Or P7M8? Bottom magwell catch or standard thumb release?

If its a P7M13 its also a great deal!!A P7M8 or M13 at that price if its in great shape and comes with extra mags is steal!

If you decide to get one of these and plan to carry it as a defensive sidearm..Then plan to not carry anything else as these squeeze cockers are a whole new animal compared to what you are use to carrying..

I love my P7M8 but my everyday sidearm is a P229 from sig..

BTW 1500.00 seems very reasonable with the extra mags..I would have no issue paying that..Good buy in my opinion if its what you want..

Check the piston for corrosion and wear..I have yet to find one that is worn or corroded though..Most owners will keep these quite clean unless they just don't know about these firearms..The face of the piston or port should be looked at however from being battered by the piston during reinstall of the slide..I have found this issue on some that I have worked on..I would say though even if the one you are looking at getting is a GPD issue it will have been gone through well..Also from the condition you are describing I doubt its seen much use..Very reliable pistols and great accuracy..
 
I looked for a M8 for quite a while last year 'till I found one. The range on M8's was about $1200-$1600+.

The LE trade-in P7 PSP's (the vast majority are actually not marked "PSP", only "HK P7" as in BigBore's photos) were selling at Top Gun Supply. They had grade B PSP's for $499. That was about two months ago. When they get them, they sell out fast. Those babies are some of the best deals going in guns.

Color of the slide is blued, just like the frame. Looks fantastic. P7M8 and has the thumb release to match. No heel release.
Agreed, mags are very expensive. Given this P7M8's condition I dont know that I would really carry it. I have a pretty respectible collection of other pistols to carry and what not. I just like the P7M8 and think it is unique. Thought the one I was looking at and purchased was a good deal and wanted to make sure for people who know more than I do on the subject. I had a Sig 229 9mm w/night sights for a while that I intended to carry but it was too nice and I used other guns more often so I ended up trading it. Great gun, accurate and easy to shoot.
The P7M8 I picked up was standard as it would have come from the factory. Didnt have extra mags, one of the guys replying to my post made a comment about a P7M13 he saw sell locally for $1800 with 8 mags.
Thanks for the input and thoughts though as well as the info on the piston. Very helpful and appreciated.

Thank you. I had the same issue. I found this one recently and though it was extremely nice and a good deal so I jumped on it.

I looked at the P7's the TopGunSupply had, very nice but they were out of stock. I am glad they were as i wouldnt have grabed this one when it came up if I already had one... I dont think... :)
 
The ones from Top Gun were a great deal but they were PSPs and ready for a refinish. HK graded them based on internal wear. The external on these guns were less than pristine. Lots were sent straight to refinishers.

A LNIB M8 is a $1100 to $1300 gun depending on your market.

Saw those ones. Sweet guns, I am a sucker for the heat shield & mag release on the P7M8's but seriously considered getting one. They were out of stock when I tried and then I ende3d up finding this P7M8 and decided to go for it seeing as it is what I really wanted and seems to be a great deal, especially seeing as the gun is in LNIB condition. I cant find any evidence of wear or even that its been fired. Very clean gun. Kind of a problem though too. I dont want to shoot it and devalue it if it is LNIB but also didnt get it as a pure investment gun either so I am torn. :) Not sure what to do.

Sweet gun! Gotta love the P7's :) cool guns.
SO I have two for "Shoot it" given I havent had any objections and I cannot verify that it is NIB guess theres no reason not to shoot it.. at least a little :)
