Just one reason among dozens for him to learn the phrase, "Would you like fries with that?" ...of course I'm not CERTAIN he could learn to do THAT properly.

How many people demanded George Bush resign (or be arrested)?

A hollow gesture at best. Holder clearly violates his oath of office and practices discriminatory policies on a daily basis, but I wouldn't look for anything to come of it.

Still good for them to point it out in public. Many would not know otherwise. It will help spread the truth.

Like that's gonna happen. Just doing so gives them another reason to call us racist.

Now that I said that.....if you can't do the job, if you won't do the job, it don't matter where you came from or what your color is...you oughta be gone.

Hollow? Doesn't seem so to me. The largest political lobby in the country is making noise, some people will listen and ask questions.

Will he resign? Of course not. Will he get fired? Nah. Doesn't mean it's not worth rattling the cage though.

Perhaps pressure from the NRA won't do it alone, but he's got to be a little worried about his career with all the pressure from the Congressional Oversight Committee and Senator Grassley. They're out for the truth about operation "Gun Runner." And the refusal to submit subpoenaed records by the DOJ and ATF is raising eyebrows.

I can't speak for other mainstream news companies, but Foxnews hasn't forgotten about the two dead federal agents and 1500 +/- guns allowed to walk to Mexico. Foxnews has had continued press on this issue since it first came out.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement to make. The NRA has asked for my resignation, so here it is. I wanted to hit the lecture circuit anyway." Nah. Not gonna happen.

BUT, it could be a building block. The BATFE gun running story has actually gotten some mainstream press coverage, and if a few more details come about that can't be explained away, he might find himself under a bus in the non-specific future.

This could work.

The mainstream media (like some of the posters here!) may take the attitude, "Look how RIDICULOUS the NRA is--babbling on about some Project Gunnrunner. They're such right-wing haters! Let's report it to embarrass them!"

And they end up letting a lot of people who didn't know about Project Gunrunner learn about it. Free publicity is free publicity. Just hope they don't misspell NRA.

Just doing so gives them another reason to call us racist.
No reason to back down. It is just like bullying. You have to stand up to bullies. Good people are getting tired of being called racist any time the person they disagree with happens to be of color. It is getting old and, as with all over used/wrongly used threats, will someday carry no weight. The boy who cried wolf syndrome.

I see the NRA doing this as education for the masses. A wake up call as it were. It is a good thing which will have positive results. It just won't be this joker resigning.

Politicians who use things like this to further their anti gun agenda need to be put in the light of day for everyone to see.

Holder's perceived agenda mirrors the President's. His resignation will not happen no matter how much sabre rattling goes on. If you want him gone, elect a different president.

It is disturbing for one branch of government to obstruct the actions of another in applying the system of checks and balances. If the legislative asks for information regarding a possible violation by the executive, the proper response is not to stonewall them.

It is the good people who are defamed by the racist people when the racists use the valid concerns of the good people as a mask for their prejudice. The presence of a valid objection doesn't prevent the racists from co-opting it for their racist platform. Telling the difference often requires more information on those people's historical stances in other cases where similar issues occurred but they were supportive of it.

What's going on with this thread here?

Maybe go back and read that thread again, especially this part:

News stories are suitable for discussion here only when the story contains clear and unambiguous self-defense, home defense, firearms-centric, or RKBA aspects *and* when there is readily discernible detail in the news accounts sufficient to support a rational discussion.

It's clearly RKBA related and the discussion seems pretty rational to me.

Telling the difference
is sometimes difficult, and sometimes not. The Democrats have been screaming racism to bully people for some time. Occasionally they are right, but they overuse it when it doesn't fit a great deal.

When you are in the right, and the NRA is right about this, one must not let false claims scare them from telling the truth.

"Mean spirited" is another one the dems like to throw around. Things they do not like are "mean spirited". Again, one cannot let false claims stop you from telling the truth about guns.

If we backed down on gun rights just because the brady bunch tells lies about them and makes us look bad when the truth is something else, we may as well turn them in now.

Nope, we fight the lies and spread the truth.

The NRA is doing what it should.... but don't expect any results down the road. If you want to see Holder leave his position all that's needed is a political strategy that makes it clear to our 'dear president' that Holder is a liability and might deny him a second term.... The moment that happens we'll have a new attorney general (not that the policies will change until we actually do have a new president....).

Sometimes the difficulty of determination complicates the issue. If racists co-opt a movement, the onus is on the good people of the movement to reject the racists rather than capitalizing on the newly found popularity. After all, it is the racists joining on because of their prejudices who are weakening the integrity of the movement.

Grassley may confront Holder on ‘Gunrunner’ Wednesday
When Attorney General Eric Holder appears Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a “regular oversight hearing,” he could face a grilling by Sen. Charles Grassley on Project Gunrunner and what the Iowa Republican has contended is stonewalling by the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

It is amazing how some of these politicians can claim to be gun friendly while doing all they can to take away our second amendment rights.

It is funny how lawyers, the folks at the Brady campaign, and politicians cant figure out who the "the people" are that are referred to in the constitution but my high school government class cant seem to figure out how it could mean any thing other than the citizens of this country.

Obviously, but in the case of the "Tea Party" this is not the driving issue. Policy is. They reject this administrations socialist policies. They reject his spending us into ruin. They reject many on the other side of the isle for the same reason. They are tired of big government that they believe will ruin America.

Anti gun sentiment runs in all the current administrations veins as well. O has surrounded himself with folks with long anti gun records. If they get a second term where they are not worried about re-election, they will look at ways to take away gun rights.

The NRA is right to do this. I say again we can not let bullying stop us from standing up and pointing out the truth. It must be brought to the forefront so the mainstream folks, and not just folks like us watching for it, will see it.

I have a feeling my boy Chuck may get all crazy and show Holder how strong farmers are. I bet he can throw him a pretty good distance.

If they get a second term where they are not worried about re-election, they will look at ways to take away gun rights.

I also believe this is true.
