I have been told that Davidson’s has a lifetime warranty on the firearms that they sell and this warranty is extended from the firearms dealer to the end user. Has anyone had any experience with Davidson’s Lifetime Warranty on their firearms? Would the Davidson’s warranty cause you to purchase from one dealer over the other? With the typical firearm purchase (say $700), would you pay more for the same firearm that had the Davidson’s warranty? Have you heard of other distrubitors with a similar warranty?
Thanks!

I would not buy a firearm from any internet busniss. If I have a problem with a firearm I will deal directly with the manufactor of it. Most problems would be when the firearm is new atleast during the first few hundred rounds and would be sent back free to be fixed free. I will take the money saved up front and be happy with that. Allways had a dealer that I can buy from for a good discounted price and not have to deal with any extra fee's .

No. I personally would not pay more for a Davidson gun. Most manufacturers I buy from are going to stand behind the guns they sell. If you are buying a quality firearm from a company with a good CS rep then I see no need to pay more.

Then you are missing out on some great deals and moe choices IMHO. I would say I am the almost the exact opposite. I rarely buy guns from the local dealers. I do transfers and they make $$$ on me in other ways but in most cases they simply do not have the guns I am looking for in stock.

Davidsons has replaced guns that were well out of factory warranty with no questions asked many times for customers of the shop here.

caution!!!! you will have to do some research on the state where davidson does business and find out what the definition on the law books is for `life time warrenty.'

from experience when i have ran into the so-called life time warrenty on car parts it is just seven years.

good ploy to suck people into thinking they have security for a lifetime!

buying mail order thru davidsons may also involve your resident states laws too.

so be warey.....

just a thought...

Never had a problem with any firearm manufacture that had a lifetime warranty but in truth just have not had many problems period! Had a couple of triggers that were not functioning properly but manufactures sent new triggers with very few questions asked. Almost all my firearms have been purchased on line either with dealers or from individuals. I agree, you are missing out on some great "occasional" deals if you do not use available resources at your finger tips.

I think you will find that NO gun maker offers a warranty of any kind, let alone a lifetime warranty.
What they offer is customer service. "If it breaks, we'll make it right."
Davidson's takes that a step farther. "If you wear it out we'll make it right."
Would I like to buy through Davidson's? Sure, but lately they've been sold out of everything I wanted, plus they don't carry certain brands (Sig and Kimber, for instance.)

Good, leaves less competition with me.

newfalguy101 Does not matter if they invented the net or you walk in the door I can buy local and allways have for 10% over cost. That saves way to much money and my local dealer has allway has been able to find what ever I wanted and does not buy from just a couple dealers. ' Local dealer came up with a rifle a wanted the was said to be not avalible from all the big suppliers. They found a small dealer in minnasota that had 1 left and I still paid a very discounted price. Know one stocks witness pistols right. a couple years ago , local had mine in 4 days at almost 150 dollars off retail. Also when I call and send in a 30+ year old revolver to taurus and have it fixed and back in 2 weeks free . How much beter can davidsons warrenty be. If I live in the middle of no where and they will send to your door with no local dealer, that would be one thing but for most of us a on line dealer is not worth whille.

Can't find anything my local can't get at discounted prices. Kimbers, sigs, rock river beneli, cz, tc and all the rest of the big companies along with the lowly crickets h&r and rossi's in stock along a great many highend and blackpowder firearms. You want a wilson or sti he will and does gladly order those too at a discount.

Your decision ~ I buy where I can get the best deal. The past few years it has not been locally. I also get to skip the opinionated arrogance found at some of our local shops.

springfield offers a lifetime warranty on their XD and XDM lines, i don't know about the rest.

Springfield's warranty covers their entire line of products.

As far as Davidson's, they replaced a faulty Ruger MkIII for a friend twice. Both were defective out of the box.

I have dealt with the S&W Lifetime Warrenty. It ist one. We have had S&W 659's develope cracked frames. Original owner and used in LE. Round count was low yet they refused repair as they no longer have parts for those models. In the past they replaced the cracked frame with that of a 5906 or 6906 in the case of a 669. Now they simply say "Sorry".
