So I have an email in to WOA about ordering an upper, but its the weekend and I am anxious! haha

The only service rifle upper I see is the A2 fixed site set up, has anyone got a WOA service rifle flat top?

The reason is I also want to use the gun for both service rifle and hunting and want to be able to put a scope on it.

Thanks

I don't believe they make the service rifle with a flat top, though I'm sure you could ask John about it. Hollinger is the best as what he does, so it's probably an option.

Have you considered the Varmint? Flat top, free float tube.

The varmint upper would be fine for varmints, but not legal for Service Rifle.

Guess I will just have to wait until Monday when I can call John, just hoped someone might know.

From what I know the detachable carry handle is legal (NRA at least) and WOA makes them. I don't think he really recommends them. I think it is just no advantage as he sees it. But, go by what he says.

RRA also make a detachable NM sight. I'm not saying they are equivalent.

Regarding detachable carry handle rear sight. You lose the ability to put your fingers through and hit he bolt release - if that matters to you. I like the modularity but don't like losing the finger space and big funky knobs on the left.

IIRC I think the carry handle loses a little on the range of adjustment??

However, I want a dual purpose gun, sometimes means a compromise.

So I believe the detachable carry handle will just get you out to 600 where the fixed handle should get you to at least 800. I'm sure if you asked he could just use the flat top upper receiver on a service rifle build and you might need to get a sight from somewhere else.

Also I'm pretty sure they are NRA/CMP legal now as well.
