what's up everyone, is that too much for a Springfield 1911 Target 9mm?? The gun is used and you can tell its is used. It doesn't look "like new", the slide has some scratches and a small idiot mark I think. I've seen some idiot marks that run all the way down into the trigger but this one doesn't go all the way. Well the gun sells for $840 plus tax and dros, it's on consignment. I've wanted a Springfield loaded 1911 9mm but this one seems to be calling my name. The difference between the target and the loaded is just the adjustable sights right? I'm in california so that price will probably be much higher than other states. I posted this thread on another board but i wanted to see what you guys would say.
thanks everyone

That seems a little high for the condition you describe. If I were you I would wait for the one you've lusted for, unless you can trade or sell this one quickly.

I've looked for one here in Georgia, and the pre taxes & fees price on that one is what a new one would run here - if my local dealers cold ever get one. I wouldn't expect to save much on a used one even out here because they're so hard to find. I've heard prices in California are pretty high compared to many other states, so that doesn't sound bad with all factors considered.

The other nice thing is that's a stainless gun. A little emery or crochus cloth should take care of the exterior wear marks.

The one I've wanted is the Springfield loaded. From what I've read the only difference between this one (target) and the loaded is the adjustable sights. Everything else is the same, so I don't mind the adjustable sights at all :). I'm going to see if they could lower the price at least 10%. Anyone else think I should skip it???? In CA 1911s in 9mm are extremely rare. The emp not as much.

crochus cloth??? Never heard of that one. What's the price??? After reading this, my interest in that gun just increase even more. Scratches aren't horrible but they're there.

I had the stainless SA 1911 Target in 9mm. It was totally reliable but very inaccurate - the best groups were ca 4 inches at 50 ft. I finally sold it and purchsed a Dan Wesson PM-9 - 1 inch groups at 50 ft.

The current Springfield 1911's in 9 MM are stainless. It would be easy to clean up the exterior marring with a maroon Scotchbrite pad. Follow the grain of the brushed finish and don't scrub the pad back and forth. It creates squigglies in the finish. Bad. :uhoh:
the next thing is the price. It is real close to retail. Too high in my opinion. :scrutiny:
The last thing is the Combat Loaded 9 MM is an Imbel finished gun that is produced in Brazil and the Target Loaded with adjustable sights is finished in the USA using parts forged in Brazil. The fit and finish is better on the Target Loadeds in most peoples eyes.
