That is a good deal! Are they making them again? I know there were this pictures from the shot show, but not much if any info since then.

This is good news! Appears the pocket .380 craze and the successful SIG copy of this pistol have shown them they should sell what people want. Now if only they'd start up the DA revolvers again too...

I don't think they've hit the shelves yet, but they are gearing up production. The management at Colt must be idiots for having ceased production in the first place, and for not starting again when the CCW laws began opening up across the country.

Sig has now stolen their market.

Colt is excellent at shooting themselves in the foot. They lose the 1911 market, stop making what turns out to be a hot selling pocket gun... man. It's got to kill them that Sig is selling 238's by the truckload right now.

I just bought a government pocketlite 380 and I posted this already but it was on an old post. Anybody know why the ejector is not in the locked position? Or how to get it there? I can't fully seat the magazine and I'd prefer not to break it the day I bought it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure the manufacturer should carry back manuals for their guns for liability reasons!

It's a pretty simple issue, but you will break something if you don't know what you are doing.

Yeah, once you figure out how to properly reposition the piece you'll always remember it!!

Wait until you shoot it, I owned both the colt mustang and government model 380, both models were really junk guns compared to other 380's of their time.

Problem is that they are not really that accurate, they are good as a belly gun up to 7 yrds. but don't expect more from them.

The walther ppk 380 will shoot rings around it and is better made and only sells for $350, even a keltec 380 is superior to a colt 380.

The only reasons colt 380's demand a lot of money is because of their now rarity.

I have a 6 inch gong that I hang out at 25 yards. I can ring it all day with my Mustang Pocketlite. The PPK is a blowback pistol, and the Kel Tec has an awful DAO trigger. Neither will measure up against the Mustang.

Either you or the previous owner popped it off the mainspring. you'll need to remove the grip panels, push out the pin holding the MSH in, allow the MSH to be released, get it all lined back up properly, then reassemble. It can be a little frustrating but isn't too bad. If you google around, there are some vids of how to do this.

That is nice. I wish i could get something like that for the wife, but she's not a real gun fan. She's fired them, but refuses to carry one. I wish I could change her mind.

I like the new SIG P238 repro of the Colt Govt .380......fun to shoot, but not as good in performance, IMHO, as the .380 PPK I have

My remedy to the problem of popping off the mainspring is to never take the slide off the gun...just take the grips off and then run the whone thing under a parts washer flowing Hoppe's #9 Mens' Cologne as the solvent.....(back in the Army days, the solvent was DF2....)
