I can't find any Speer GDHP bullets, but Hornady XTP are plentiful. I picked up a can of the new Alliant 300MP to experiment with.
Can I use the Alliant data for the Hornady bullet? I read somewhere that the Speer bullets have a softer jacket, so peak pressures would be lower. Any truth to this?
I guess with new powders and bullets that you just work up slowly, but I wish there was a bit more data. Especially since I don't want to scratch the forcing cone (weren't there problems with Lil' gun which is another supermag powder?)
Also, has anyone tried 300MP with hardcast bullets?
I am interested in .357 and .44 magnum.
Thanks.
