Hi Desert CA.
Yaaa or Naaa ? Looking for a good bolt .308 that can take a mag, A friend said to look it up, Anyone out there own one with info ?

Thanks.....

let me see it's a quality bolt action from a reputable manufacturer equipped with a detachable mag, forward scope rail AND quality adjustable aperture sights (vs .22 sights tacked onto the bbl as an afterthought)

What do you think?

Using a high quality battelfield proven mag of top notch manufacturer VS a cheap one of notoriously spotty function that would up the price of the rifle significantly through adding much more machining if it's use is even possible?

Yeah how silly of them?

Get m14 mags out of your head fellas they won't work PERIOD END OF STORY. To use a M14 mag you have to either make it fixed and cut the magazine feed lips off or machine away all of the reciever bottom straps.

It;s a bolt action 308 how many freakin mags do you need anyway

So, what you are saying is that they would have had to design the rifle to use M14, FAL or G3 mags instead of designing it to use the mags they went with?

...You don't say...

They didn't have design anything new as it stands except for the bottom metal. To use those other mags would require designing a new action that could accommodate a wider bottom opening

The action used is standard ruger m77 that's been around for almost 40 yrs
