PCF AR-15 Lower (Plum Crazy Firearms)

Please do a search, this was discussed in painful fashion just a week ago.

go to AR15.com and search for it. Plum Crazy has an OK rep with that group. I have only read of one serious issue. The PC lower was used with a larger caliber, either 7.6x39 or 6.5. I can't remember.

If i were come upon one at a reasonable price, i would get it.

I'm beginning to wish that THR had a dedicated AR board...

I'm thinking about getting one for my dedicated .22LR upper. I wouldn't use it with anything higher caliber though, for myself.

Yes it will do fine, it will be great for a light 22LR build.

If you doubt the quality, check this "Kaboom" from some one mixing pistol and rifle powder. Everything was destroyed, but the PCF stock didn't disintegrate like many would make you think they would (heck it blew out the barrel and upper receiver).

I don't know if the Plum Crazy stock is made out of the same or a similar material but HK has proven with the G36 and UMP that polymer can be extremely durable and reliable in a rifle.

The plastic FCG may be incompatible with some rimfire uppers and may have to be replaced.

That is a Cavalry Arms lower. Completely different creature.

Is it because there so cheap, I mean why would someone spend good money for a plastic frame with a plastic FCG when a few dollars more can buy something decent?

Are we all so poor?

I think the point is to save weight. I know the difference in weight is nominal but so are many AR items over others. It's when they add up that real weight savings can be had and that is really what the original M16 was all about. Being light.

After my earlier statement, i read a Plum Crazy lower broke at the take down pin. That is only the second failure i have read about.
