Well I made a post about a DPMS a buddy of mine has. Well I was wrong, it is a bushmaster ar10. He wants 800 for it, thats what he paid on a super sale on a no tax day. I see them going for 1000+ now. So Im hoping that even if i hate it I can get my money back selling it off. It does not have any sights on it at all. I was considering putting a Redfield 4x12 I have on it. I've got about 5k worth of 308 match brass so I'll be buying a set of dies to load for it. You guys think this is a good deal? T minus 3 hours til purchase time.

I bought one of the Bushmaster BAR10 rifles when they first came out. A friend of mine liked mine so much he bought one too. There has been a lot of bad internet talk about them and they are no longer made but the two we own have been nothing but fantastic. I have take many deer and countless pigs with mine and never had a single issue. $800 is well worth it.

Here is a pic of mine...

wow thats a sweet rifle buddy! I was not aware that they are no longer being made. I wonder why? I still see some 308 AR style rifles at the stores.

I got a bushmaster BAR10 just like that I bought new about 7 years ago, paid whole lot more than $800....I learned to wear hearing protection, muzzle blast is bigtime....you sure that is an AR10? the price sounds more like an AR15.

Bushmaster quit making them but thare are others out there. I think Bushmaster sold the rights to Rock River.

Im 100% certain the one my buddy has is an AR10. Like I said now they're 1100 at the same place he picked this up not to long ago. He brought the paperwork that was inside it so I could read it the other day. So when you say the price sounds like ar15 I hope that means that the 800 is a smokin deal. Sense I'll be loading for it, its the only reason Im considering buying it. I just want to load up about 3k of ammo, get it sighted in well and forget it in the safe. I got weapons that I'll be using for practical hunting situations. This will just go with my AR's for that just in case scenario for major self defense.

well I got it, its in my safe. Ready to get loading for it. Lots of brass needs trimming, and hopefully I'll like it. I've got a few 15s, but not anything like this. Going to mount that scope to it and bore site it. Then hopefully tomorrow I can post some groups with it once I figure a good load for it.

Bushmaster now sells a 308 rifle based on the DPMS pattern (possibly built by DPMS since they have the same parent company). Why does it matter? Magazines: the BAR10 used FAL mags, the new one uses DPMS/Knight's pattern and they are not compatible. And uppers and lowers do not swap between RR and DPMS.

I have no idea what it is lol. Im more of a handgun guy. I just know its an ar10. Only came with one mag so I'm going to have to figure that out I reckon.

The BAR10 would have came with a FAL mag where the ORC will have a SR25 original AR10 patterned mag.
