Help price these S&W's

Look at finished Gunbroker auctions for the two linked examples. That will give you a real market idea.

For my area, both would be good buys. Used 92s go for $400 and 625s are over $600 in my area, so that is a great deal in my experience. Mint 27s that are not pinned & recessed (4") are probably in the high $600 range to mid $700s, so that is a decent price as well.

There is a nice 27-2 P&R 5" barrel in the for sale ads $700.00 shipped IMHO much more valuable than a -5 also comes with a tyler-t grip

(Full disclosure it is mine)

1. The price on the 27 is a fair market value. It appears to be in nice shape. I'd pay it, although I'd start off offering a bit lower.

2. The offer of a straight across trade (your 92FS Compact for the 625) is also fair. I'd not add a nickel of cash to your end of the deal.

Prices on 625s are normally north of $600, sometimes north of $700.

However, the revolver depicted has an after-market porting job done on the barrel. In my book, that lowers the value significantly (I don't care who did the porting...and I notice he isn't advertising the porting or who did it).

It's a $450 gun. Tops.

If you are getting it because you want a ported, large bore revolver that uses moon clips...get it. If you are getting it with future appreciation in mind...pass. Ported revolvers are hard to move unless you find that rare someone that likes porting. Otherwise it's just after market butchery to an original gun.

I know I would not take a 92f for a magnaported S&W m25.
92fs compacts are nothing great. now if you offered a sig 226
And I would pay the price for the S&W m27.
But what do I know:neener:
