Oslo incident

People have been conditioned all their lives to never "take the law into youy own hands" what do you expect? Especially when the shooter was dressed like an authority figure.
 
The documentary states that the victims were the children of the "liberal" politicians that were in favor of allowing the Muslim immigration, and the motivation was to kill off the next generation of this kind of leadership. Also all the survivors they interviewed were clearly native northern European.
 
Again, it is my understanding that most of these kids were not Norwegians. They were immigrants from Muslim nations, which is why this guy targeted them.

Incorrect - they were the children of the opposite party that he blamed for allowing Muslims into his country - they were Norwegians and basically city kids, so firearms were not their thing
 
The camp was a huge political get-together for the young social Democrats of Norway.

The killer published a huge manifesto "the european declaration of independence" and his goal was to limit islamisation of europe and self destruction of the west.

I'm a Swede and I had friends in Oslo when it happened.

I don't mind the friendly, moderate muslims that migrate to Sweden although I do believe that their philosophy is destructive, especially when taken to the extreme. This is basically the way I feel about social Democrats as well.

The peculiar thing about this guy is that he jumps from thinking socialists and muslims are a bad thing to thinking the best way to solve the problem is to go murder innocent kids. He is completely nuts, to put it mildly. If 10% of what the media says about him is true, he is 100% crazy.
 
kodiak.... you'll just have to see the show... Yes the shooter was a muslim/ immigrant hater, but the targets that day were actually young Norwegians who were at the equivalent of a "young Democrats" camp outing. More specifically they were the young folks that the ruling party in Norway was bringing into the political process (our equivalent would be young Dems or young Repubs...). I believe the shooter chose them particularly because of their connection to the ruling party (and that's precisely where the bomb was placed that day as well - in front of that party's headquarters in Oslo...).
 
The names that didn't sound norwegian are names of immigrants or children of immigrants. They are also norwegians, although their grandparents weren't.
 
If they're disarmed and unarmed they're likely afraid of guns. Like people who run away from any dog because they're afraid of all dogs.

People who out of hand kill others are crazy, quite possibly not legally insane, but they're not right in the head. Killing someone in self defense or the enemy in wartime is obviously not killing someone out of hand - unless they're executed, but shooting unarmed civilians for any reason indicates to me that whoever did it isn't wrapped tight enough.

As for Mslms immigrating into European countries, they're there for one reason alone and that's to take over and install their religion and laws IMHO. It's happening in the USA and Canada too.
 
These killers have access to weapons that truely should be banned but the line is drawn and reason has been thrown out the window.

I think it's for economic and political reasons. Much of the Muslim world is ruled by despots. Getting away from them is why we have the United States of America.
