Has anyone else actually weighed the bullets they got from MBC?
I had occasion to weigh some of the supposed #2 185gr LSWC I recently bought. I weighed 50 bullets of a 500 bullet order and there was only one that weighed less than 197gr and that one had a casting flaw. I weighed them on a zeroed and tested Redding balance beam. I double checked the weights on another scale to verify.
Fortunately I had only loaded about 32 light loads.

That sounds odd. I have a couple thousand 115gr 9mm, but haven't weighed any of them.

You may want to contact them about this.

I have gone through about 2k of their IDP#2 (170gn SWC .401). I have weighed quite a few, and all were within 6gn of 170gn. The only thing that I have noticed is that every now and then (about 1 out of a box of 500) you will find an unlubed bullet.

I used their contact e-mail and explained my concern.
On the positive side, since the bullets are VERY close to 200gr, I can probably load for that weight instead. I just really wanted to try some 185gr.

Sounds like you got a box of mislabled 200 grainers.

I've never had any of MBC bullets off by more than 5 grains. Usually only one or two, which is very good. Brad will take care of it for you. It's a holiday weekend, I'm hoping he is taking the weekend off.

That crossed my mind, but the odd thing is that there were a handfull of extra bullets in the shipping bag and when I weighed them they were 204 gr.
That's actually why I weighed some from the box on the theory that they were "escapees" from that batch.

Sounds like a rare occurance from Missouri Bullet, but I wouldnt worry, Brad will take care of it. THe folks from Missouri Bullet are good stand-up people.

I'm not concerned, they certainly come highly recommended.
Especially for CS.
I had 250 200 gr rounds loaded and ready to burn up this weekend so I'm happy.
Just wanted to experiment with the 185 gr.

Yep, it was a packaging/labeling error. A Bullseye #2 label was mistakenly attached to a box containing Bullseye #1, the 200 grain soft bullets. So we sent you the wrong bullets.

Jo Ann and I had already made a note to re-ship your order tomorrow after we received your email this afternoon and I had intended to reply to it when I came in from the shop, which was just a few minutes ago and then I saw your post here.

Anyhow, in the shipping carton, you will receive a separate plastic bag containing a body part which was formerly attached to our packaging person.

I am very upset about this mistake and am very sorry that it happened. We will take care of it.

It is funny you mentioned that.. I was just loading some .38 158 Cowboy loads from MBC.. They all came in a couple grains over 158. MBC rocks..!!

BTW, Don't send the body part, if you keep it on ice someone local might use it for a replacement part.

Kinda curious. How much does the lube weigh?

I don't think I've ever weighed a pistol bullet except when I had a bunch of mixed bag oddballs that needed sorting..

As long as the weight is consistent between bullets is really what matters, so they group well. The lube weighs a few grains itself.

You don't want to slow the production of said packaging employee.

I weighed a few from my first two or three orders and they were within one grain. I haven't felt the need to do that since then. Quality has always been great and the shipping has been fast. I've ordered several times on Friday and my mail lady had back problems hauling up the box on the following Monday.

MBC is one of the few really great suppliers I've found.

Try mastercast.net prices are good and service is also great, plus he will send you samples for free. I have tried missouri bullet but was not happy with there prices for the quality of bullets i recieved. Mastercastbullets.com is great too just right now Mike is having some knee trouble and not able to make any bullets, but whenever i talked to him the other day he was hoping to be able to start taking orders again in a couple weeks.

Yep, I've tried buying bullets from ANOTHER major supplier but had a few questions and he acted like I should know the answers.
I asked about the weight of 1000 of xxx bullets and got a formula to calculate the weight in response...gee thanks.
I ordered anyway, and not only got the wrong weight bullets but the wrong CALIBER!!
So I called and was told "no, that didn't happen"...sent a pic of the box, no response.
So I guess to him, I'm an idiot, but this idiot is not HIS customer anymore.

From then on I ordered from MBC...life is good,

No i didnt notify you, because i bought 500 to test and see if i like them because you guys dont send out free samples, so i bought them for testing pursposes. I didnt feel the need to contact you because you would have to change you whole manufacturing process in order to deliver what i have found other places for cheaper prices. Your lube was too hard, bullets were undersized, and were harder than advertised. So i just accepted this as a learning curve that cost me 40 bucks.
