I recently sold a magpul adjustable stock on eBay to a buyer in Canada. Is it legal to poses this stock there and can I send it there.

I'm sure Canada probably has an official website outlining what they can and can not own. Which from what I remember from a Kanuckian friend, is basically Red Ryders, sling shots and lawn darts......:D

i would be more concerned about the legal implications of sending non sporting firearms parts OUT of the US

I don't know wether a magpul stock would be allowed or not, I'm just saying it warrants further investigation

ITAR

The ITAR is a tripwire many don't see until it's to late. Rule of thumb...don't mess with canada. Jokingly...if it's illegal in California it's illegal in canada.

Adjustable stocks are allowed... Not sure if the one you sold is allowed though.

PS - yes there is an official website for firearms, it's an RCMP website:

I went ahead and canceled the ebay sale. The buyer had no disagreement with me doing so. It probably would have went through without any problems but I just felt weird about it.

Probably a good idea. Lots of innocent things get looked at closely when crossing the border into Canada. I once had a computer held up at the border in Buffalo by Canadian customs, and it was a machine built in Canada that had been shipped to the US for repairs (long story). But it was only a regular computer.

ITAR has issue with just about anything that can be possibly used for any type of item that may or may not have a military or defense use.
ITAR is one of the biggest PITA's I deal with where I work. ITAR even limits exposure to the manufacture of reglated parts to citizens of the USA or properly credentialed employees.
Because of ITAR regulations my company has to do an instant background check on any person entering our facility for the 1st time. That even included my wife a couple months ago when she brought me lunch. Once a person passes the check, they're good to go. My company has had a couple people that tried to get work here fail the background check. Needless to say we haven't hired them, and we're not allowed to tell them why.
It's better to take the pass than to get tied up in a bunch of gov't red tape
