First frame where the hat moves... You decide. Muzzle blast doesn't look quite right... could be the quality, but then again, the quality could have been reduced to cover any editing flaws.

Looks fake to me, too. You can see the muzzle blast on the first two shots but no muzzle blast on the shot that takes his hat off.

Wait you mean you shouldn't check the chamber by looking down the barrel?

I thought you were supposed to clear the chamber by removing the magazine, looking down the barrel to be sure it is free of obstructions, and then clear it by pulling the trigger.

Yes, you do drop the mag,
Then you open the action
Then you verify the chamber is empty from the BACK or you do a finger check and feel the chamber to make sure it is empty. There is NEVER any reason to look down the muzzle of a gun while the action is closed (which is the only way a firing pin will have enough umpf to actually detondate the primer... maybe on a mauser controlled feed action you could fire with the bolt back.... Hell, if I'm inspecting a crown, I either remove the bolt, remove the barrel, or lock the action open.

The weapon is now clear

The pulling of the trigger is to put the hammer down, or to remove tension on the springs in the gun.

Yes it definately was, I thought it would have been clear but it honestly is hard to convey tone on the internet.

I read an article on "uncyclopedia" which is basically just like wikipedia only it is completely devoid of any actual knowledge...more of a joke dictionary really.

I now own about 20 firearms and know about proper handling and safety.

Kiln - I suspected that it was sarcasm, but I've met enough people to not make that assumption anymore. I used to think common sense was called that because it was common... imagin my chagrin when I learned the truth.

I have met a lot of people who have hunted for years that I could picture saying your last post in fully belief that they were in the right... almost enough of em to make me not drive a brown car with a white license plate and a luggage rack (it's a reference to a Jeff Foxworty joke about drunken hunting).

First frame where the hat moves, you're looking at the foreblast. The blast of air being forced out the muzzle that comes ahead of the shot. That alone would be enough to blow off his hat.

If it's real, what a moron. And I hope he learned from his close call. Always clear your weapon.

Video is clearly fake. Recoil from the fake shot isn't accurate, nor is the victim's reaction timing. His clothing appears unaffected from the muzzle blast, and there is no residual effect of a gun firing--no lingering smoke or any other indicator the gun actually fired.

The sound also gets cut off after the 'hat shot' and doesn't echo like the first two.

It is funny how after the guns goes click and he works the action you see no shell come out. But every time he shoots the gun a shell comes out.

Think outside the (we're going to take your guns away from you) box. Situations like this might not (in most cases) result in (as in your partial quote) "banning all of them now", but the Anti's will take any little opening they can get and try to drive a wedge in for their own gain.

Anti: Look at that idiot playing with a gun. The "gun nuts" tell us how safe and all they are when using their dangerous weapons, but here's another example of their mentality when it comes to using a gun safely. We can use this video to get other people over to our way of thinking.
