What happened with my die/case?

Get yourself a stuck case remover kit and pull it out. Happens to every reloader eventually.

Your first mistake was using one shot case lube, the second was not following instructions, letting the lube dry before trying to resize.

Now you know why they make stuck case removal kits.

A lot of people here will warn against using One Shot.
I haven't seen what the hubbub is about.

The only time I've stuck a case is trying to resize w/o lube.
(where I've resized several cases & then try to resize a couple of unlubed ones - hoping the previous cases left enough lube in the die)

Not sayin' they're wrong - just that I haven't had any issues with One Shot.

I find One Shot difficult to use successfully with bottle neck cases, but that may be my technique as much as anything.

But, I find it not very efficient to use. A can of One Shot lasts me a few weeks while a bottle of RCBS case lubricant or a tin of Imperial Die Sizing Wax last years.

Get a stuck case remover. If that should not work, I believe RCBS will remove the case for you.

As a side note, even if you could find carbide 30-06 sizing dies, you would still need lubricant. Carbide bottle neck dies are made for high volume reloaders looking for extended die life. Otherwise, you still use them like steel dies with the same limitations. This is different from straight walled hand gun cartridges which do not require lubrication.

I only know of 308 Winchester and 223 Remingon Carbide dies and they are expen$ive. There may be others available from the same sources.

I use it on my 30-06 shell and have no problem with it. Shake the can well before using, let it dry for at least 5minutes and you shouldn't have any problems.

I used to stick the shells in my re-sizer all the time, then someone on here told me I wasn't letting it dry long enough and they were right.

Imperial wax is highly thought of also, but I can't buy it around where I live.

Did you let them dry for at least 10-15 minutes? I doubt it or the case wouldn't have gotten stuck. I alomost got one stuck when I first started using that kind of lube because I didn't let it dry. Trust me, those spray on lubes work jus fine so long as you allow them to dry completely.

Here is the correction for the above. "Happens to every reloader who uses One Shot, eventually".

All you need is a #7 drill bit, a 1/4"x20 tap, a 1/4"x20 bolt & washer, and a socket from a socket wrench set big enough to clear the case head.

Drill the flash hole & tap threads in it.
Put a washer on the bolt, stick it through the socket, and screw it into the case.

Then tighten the bolt and it will pull the case out of the die.

Midway and Sinclair carry Imperial Sizing Wax. Probably most of the other mail order houses that carry reloading equipment.

As close as your phone or your computer.

Never say "Never". I reloaded for close to thirty years and then got a case stuck. It was not lubricated with One Shot but RCBS Case lube.

Not the lubricant's fault though, I let the lube pad get too dry while forming 6.5x54 Mauser cases.

I was too impatient to wait to order one, so out to the shop. I knew what the commercial units looked like so just a matter of doing some shade tree engineering out in the shop.

Hornady One Shot Cleaner is fantastic at cleaning dies and gun actions. Hornady One Shot Case Lube is the f*@&ing devil. I managed to get a case "lubed" with this useless potion so stuck that I broke a case-removing kit trying to extract it. I had to send the die back to the manufacturer.

I have not come close to getting a case stuck since I started using Imperial.

The instructions on the One Shot can states you must let the cases dry before sizing, I had the same problem, it was pilot error!

You can call RCBS and Ship them the die first class mail I think they charge $7 to remove a case and for return shipping combined.

So now you learned not to use OneShot welcome to the club.
