picked up a h&k p7 psp

Been wanting another one since I sold mine a couple of years ago. Was hoping to get a better deal on a nice used one but could not pass it up.
Typical psp but insides look like it had never been shot and metal finish a very nice near 100%. the previous owner put nice wood grips on them and they seem to look like the nill ones and came with the plastic box and two mags.

I paid $650 but with the condition of the pistol and the wood grips and extra mag it was just a good enough deal to be happy with!
 
Believe me, that is a great deal for this pistol. You will LOVE it. Pics, and range report please. :)
 
correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is the frame and trigger. something about the psp having a opening that allows heat to escape threw the trigger opening in the frame where as the standard civilian p7m8 has a shield there.

This design in either model is a delayed blow back. The delay is controlled by a hole directly in front of the chamber shoulder, which goes through to a small chamber just above the trigger area. The slide has a piston attached that slides in this chamber, that is then pushed forward by the gases until the bullet exits. It is this gas then that warms up the area if shot a lot or rapidly. Cool simple design.

A nice P7 with Nill grips is not a firearm, it is a work of art.

Be sure to hunt down the cylinder scraper to keep the system working well.

The PSP, M8 and M13 all have the same hole. The M8 and M13 add a heat shield, which does not help much.
Other than that annoyance, the P7 series pistols are fantastic.
 
I took mine to the range today...... it is right up there in my favorite list with the Sig P226 and Walther P38..... smooth shooting pistols....

Congratulations on getting your HK P7. I just sold my last P7 (A grade) last week on GunBroker to help finance the purchase of a new Boberg..:what:

I loved my HK P7, as I love Browning HP's, and Walther P38's (P1's).. All classics.
