2 New Toys. Turkish 1911A1 and Beretta PX4 Storm in 40 S&W

Friday I picked up a Turkish made copy of 1911 A1. Total cost out the door was $417.48. I actually bought it figuring it would have problems, and I could start learning how to work on 1911s without destroying a 700-800 dollar gun if I goofed. I cleaned the oil out of it, and It ate 100 rounds of Winchester White Box without so much as a hiccup. Grouped around 4" @ 25 feet, but shot a little to the left. I intend to have a buddy who shoots handguns a lot more than I do shoot it too to see if that is the sights or just me. But all in all I was surprised. I would say that for as well as it worked it was a bargain.

Yesterday I went and picked up the PX4 Storm I had my normal gunshop order for me. I haven't gotten around to firing it yet, but it feels great in my hand. The large back strap fits perfectly, and it is very well balanced unlike the M9 which I always felt was a bit muzzle heavy. It isn't just my hand either. The lady who owns the Gun Shop held it and I get the feeling she was on the phone ordering one for herself the moment I walked out. Also I love how easy it is to disassemble. Can't wait to shoot it.
 
It or the box it came in said nothing about Regent. Might be for all I know, but nothing to say so. It says Model 1911 A1 on slide, IAC Billerica, MA on the frame on one side. The other side of the frame says Made in Turkey, TISAS T0620, and the Serial No. It has a stainless barrel, and pretty much exactly replicates the original 1911 A1 exept for the safety lever. We determined it was me making it shoot left, corrected the problem before I left the range. 150 more rounds still not a single malfunction.

The PX4 also grouped to the right, and it wasn't me, I will have to get the tool to adjust the sights on it. It ate 100 rounds with no problem. Muzzle flip was a little more than I expected, but I guess that might come from it being lighter up front than the M9's I was used too. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my new toys :)
 
I guess anything I say never happens. I only get 3 days out of 21 off, so I have better things to do than stop shooting, take pictures with my phone, upload said pictures to a photo account, then post them on forums. I just do the forum thing while im drinking coffee in the morning, or waiting on something for work. Not to mention a picture of a group shot a 3 feet looks the exact same as a picture of a group taken at 25 feet. There is no way to take a picture of a firearm reliably cycling 250 rounds.

The Regent is the only Turkish 1911 I know of (I have one). That certainly fits the bill, but the slide has different roll marks...

I'd almost wager that that is a replacement slide...
 
They recently changed the importer for these which is why the older rollmarked Regents are selling for $349 at CDNN.

I am willing to bet this is a Regent with the new markings.

Works for me. I was just interested in what the Turkish take on the 1911 would look like :) (My comment was intended as a joke, not to be condescending, sorry)

Congratulations on both guns. I've been wanting a full-sized PX4 Storm for awhile now so it'll likely be a future purchase when I get the cash scraped together.
