I ALWAYS have a knife (or more..) on me. :D:evil: It can't really be grabbed by an ''attacker'' without him getting injured, it's also very easy to hide. I was wondering if you guys that carry also have a knife on you? If you do what type of knife do you carry with you?

Never leave home without a knife. 4" folding, name no one would know, sharper than hell in a belt holster.

I have my Benchmade Barrage 4" folder clipped to my pocket from pants on to pants off. I resharpened it on Sunday, I can shave with it if so inclined.

I think most "gunny" folks carry a sharp of some sort as well. Folders are pretty common, fixed blades less so.

Having one with you, and having some training in using it are two different things.

Oh...perhaps. 'Specially if you're fortunate to be attacked by someone who has no more training or experience than you do. If they've been around the (cell) block once or twice the picture looks different.

I'd sooner leave the house without socks and underwear before I left without at least one knife. That's only half joking since I might consider going barefoot :D

Always. Spyderco Endura clipped in waistband. MooreMaker small trapper in left pocket. Kahr .380 in right pocket. Sometimes a CRKT Tribute or Victorinox Farmer in stead of the trapper.

I'd put my wife in the class that takes the knife even before the gun. Both of us carry multiple blades. But she has actual knife scars and understands the psychological effect of steel (the goblin who gave her the worst scar did not survive, but that disagreement involved her .357 magnum).

The simple fact is, we use knives all the time. While I can live (I just feel naked) without a gun, I have trouble even imagining life without a knife. Always have blades and a source of fire.

Hallelujah. Yes I do have some knife fighting training.

Give it any thought at all and it would seem obvious that asking this question in the Non Firearms Weapons will get you nothing but a chorus of, "Well, of course.". Gun forum + knife subforum means ??? ;)

My knife gets unruly if I go out with only a gun.

Besides try cleaning you fingernails with a gun.

Cheers,

ts

Usually three or four. A friend's dad (a retired detective) once told my friend and I, "Always have three knives. One to use, one to fight with, and one nobody knows about."

So I have a Benchmade Mini-grip, a BM 710, and a... another knife.

Actually it got moved here from another forum but I would think asking anywhere here on the THR would get a chorus of "Well of course" answers.

I have a couple of 3 inch folders. One is almost always in my pocket and another in the console of my car in case something needs cutting. The size works for most work and would do in a pinch if needed defensively.

As odd as it sounds, any knife over 3.5 inches would be illegal for me to carry in a pocket, but my carry permit lets me conceal a handgun. Go figure.

Gerber EZ-Out clipped IWB on weak side,...Leatherman carried strong side in a case OWB,..and an Schrade Old Timer mini stockman in my Pocket that I would feel absolutely naked without. I tend to use them all very often for different reasons. I have used a blade both defensively and offensively in my lifetime as well,...and I am still on the green side of the mud,....ymmv

I have carried a two bladed knife with me for thirty five years. It's a Barlow knife my father gave me.When I retired last year,I retired that knife. I bought a hundred dollar case knife to replace it. I lost it the next day. Now I carry that old Barlow knife, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Lawlz. :D

I've been carrying a Kershaw Chive damascus along with my Ruger LCP. Makes me wonder how I got along for so many years without a knife as my EDC. Lovely little knife.
