I have killed hogs with a 223, 243, 30-30, 270 Win, 308, 9.3x62, and 9.3x74r, and the size of the hogs have ranged from a 25# piglet to a 350# boar. Here are just a few.

Too many hogs to remember, damn near as many weapons as well but I'll give it a try.

Largest hog, 436 pound beast with 4.6" cutters taken with a .30/30 loaded with 150gr FP Corelokts on top of 31gr H322 at 45 or so yards. Folded up with a grunt. Old man and I were grunting MUCH more loading it!

Other firearms used has been: .270win, .30/06, .300wm, .444mar, 7mm.08, .220swift (was an opportunity with a behind the ear shot and only 130 pounder while yote hunting in Tx), .30/30 as already mentioned, a couple with .243, .44mag Rev, .357mag Rev, .500 S&W Rev, .50cal Muzzle Loader, .45cal Muzzle loader, 12ga slug gun.

Other methods: Longbow, Long Recurve, Compound bow, Catch dogs with knife (only done that a few times but thats a YOUNG mans game there).

I've used a .22, 9mm, .357, .45, 7.62x39, .410, and 12 gauge all effective mostly in pins, man I got post some pics those are some nice pigs retrieverman!

Mcgunner...thank you, everyone I talk to tells me .357 just ain't enough. Out of a revolver or carbine I prefer it and use it often. I also have used a 22, 30-30, 7.62x39 and 54r, and 12 ga. I think I used my 1911 once but can't remember.

Many many Pigs all sizes from 60 LBS to 400 Lbs with my Marlin 336 30-30 and corelocks 170 grain ammo.
Have taken many with my longbow as well , they are just an infestation here in Fla.

i have also taken one 150-200 pounder with my bowie knife, and another that was a little bigger with my knife in my right hand, machete in my left. ive never used dogs though...
how can i upload some pictures from my computer?

My fave hunting revolver is a 6.5" blackhawk in .357. I shoot a 180 XTP loaded to 1400 fps in that revolver. It's PLENTY for hog to 75 yards or so. From a rest, it groups 4" at 100 yards with the iron sights with that load, is 5" high at 50 so I have to consider that at 50 yards, take a course beat on the front sight (6 oclock hold).

I shot this little one with my carry gun one day out knockin' around, 3" Taurus M66....

RM, in that third pic, your Lab looks like he is on drugs?

Maybe just really "happy". Good photos.

She is always happy when we are hunting, and she really isn't that choosy about what we hunt. I guess hunting is her drug.

Remington 700 in .270 win.
Ar-15 in .223

hogs ranged from 125 to 300 pounds.

I've killed a 400lb'er with 5 shots from a .270, and taken multiple smaller hogs with one shot from the same Winchester Model 70 .270.

I got two small shoalts this evening with a Taurus Millenium 9mm pistol, got a bad shot on a third, but mr piglet caught a bullet as he was runngin for cover.
picture of one is here:

and have killed the most hogs with Remington 1100, semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun with slugs, buck shot, and 4 shot at less than 40 yards.

Mostly .30 caliber . . .

I started out a few years ago using a British Enfield .303, and while I haven't shot all that many hogs, so far I've killed more with that Enfield than with anything else.

About two years ago I switched to a .308 so that my buddy and I could reload together and share ammo if necessary -- but also wanted something a little more accurate than the Enfield. I tried a .223 once, but decided I really liked the larger, heavier .30 cal bullet. Nowadays I'm shooting a 180gr SP out of an AR-10. I don't know that it's really any more accurate than the .303, but it's certainly fun!

At first I just used what I had for deer hunting, a Win M70 in 30-06 and a Tikka T3 lite in 270, shooting hand loads for each (165 and 150 grain respectively). When I realized that all my hog shots were less than 100 yards and had an itching to get another toy, I recently got a 1940's vintage Win M94 with a Lyman peep sight in 30-30 and it's quickly become my favorite to take for hogs. I'm still getting used to the peep sight, it sure is a lot harder to use at dusk on a dark hog as the front sight basically disappears, but I like the challenge, love the way the gun carries and shoots, and it just feels good to rack rounds using the lever. Makes me feel more comfortable when tracking a wounded hog knowing I can quickly throw a lot of lead at it.

I sometimes carry a 6" 357, but have yet to use it. Frankly it usually just gets in the way.
