What gun stuff do you want to do this year that maybe you haven't done in the past, or have let slide? I've been hitting the range maybe once or twice a year, other than work quals. I'm going to try to hit the range at least once a month this year.
And I'm going to really grow the collection this year, too. A rifle, maybe a shotgun for the wife, and some new Mosins for me.

How 'bout y'all?

No formal plans...but im considering joining a local nra affiliated range (very nice facility) which should allow me to do a lot more shooting than normal.

Also considering an upgrade to a progressive press which will allow me to take advantage of the new opportunity.

Going to break down and buy my daughter the pink/purple .22 she wants that is just like dads, Ruger 77/22 Mk II.

Big plans for me. Starting off with joining a local NRA affiliated range, I plan on trying out trap for the first time (my Dad used to and I hope to get him back into it with me). Finally as long as funds roll in I would like to pick up a nice revolver and get my CCW. Aside from that, more practice shooting, and maybe a some .22LR competitions that the club hosts.

Oh I have also been kicking around the idea of picking up a Mossan-Nagant, i love the look of them and the history attached. Plus i could use a larger caliber rifle for possible future large game hunting :D

For me? 2012 is going to be the year of all my brass loaded. Most likly I will not make it. But every little bit will help.

Don't do it! I hear tell they breed like field mice... :D

My resolution is to not buy any more firearms unless I sell one (or more) to fund the purchase. I already have more than I need. Rather, I am resolved to get more out of the ones I have. I need to reload all my fired brass, work up some accuracy loads for a couple of rifles, and fine tune my flintlocks. I have a couple of long guns I want to refinish, and I need to get my youngest kids through a hunter safety course.

1) Join a range / finding and shooting at gravel pits is getting old

2) TRY not to buy any new firearms

3) Spend the extra money on ammo/accessories for the guns that I do have

4) If I can make it one year without buying then I'll reward myself with my first 1911 on my birthday Jan. 2013. man that is a long time to wait!

I'd like to join a nice range or shooting club. It would be wonderful to get to shoot more.

As far as items, I feel like I have enough. Nice feeling, that. I've always kind of wanted a Makarov, and I wouldn't mind another shooter-grade .38 special (duty size is fine), but neither of those are anywhere near holy grail items.

**IF** I buy any more guns in 2012, It **SHOULD**be something I'll actually use: 12ga sporting clays gun; small caliber muzzle loader; better trap gun....(no more ccw stuff).

I'm going to finish my bullet trap project.

I have been contemplating the possibility of buying a new high-end handgun, and keeping it nib as an investment.

This year I'd like to start handloading. I figure I'll start with lead molds, Keith SWC's for .44mag, .357mag, and .45-70.
I figure that should pretty much cover everything. My grampa was big into handloads, so that's kinda my inspiration. I doubt I'll find the $ to get set up for all of the above this year, but I'm gonna try.
If only Pawp was still around to teach me how...

Gonna crank up the firearms instruction business, shoot more often, do some sort of handloading or gunsmithing activity every day, step up my hunting opportunities quest, and carry everywhere I'm legally allowed to.

Are you LEO? If so then I'm glad you're coming around to taking your training and responsability as an armed enforcer of the law more seriously. You need to train and shoot much more than that IMO. Good for you.

I plan on buidling an AR in .223 for some long distance (300yd) shooting competitions that they do at my club. I tried it with my bolt action .308, but since its timed, I couldn't get off all the shots in time.

I need LOTS more range time so I can pick a CCW out of the 4 I have.....
2" Sp101.357, SW Chiefs Special in .40sw, CZ rami 9mm, or Para p12 in .45 ACP.....

Decisions, decisions!

1. After more than 6 months of research and agonizing, actually purchase an AR platform rifle
2. Take safety, defensive handgun, and essentials of home defense classes offered by a local firearm training group
3. Make it to the range once a month

I am going to get a new upper, scope my mosin, and get a stoeger cougar compact and a 1911...maybe

Oh...and I forgot to mention,

I intend to break 200x200 at Illinois state trapshoot in 2012. (198x200 last 2 times).

..maybe trade 2 crappy guns for 1 good one every so often.

This year, I hope to.......

1) Add at least 4 to my collection.
2) Bring my boy (14) up to full-comfort level with handguns and shotguns.
3) Participate in at least 4 competitive handgun matches (or multi-gun).
4) Spend at least some time training to shoot long-gun offhand.

I won't call the next one a resolution, but if the finances go right, I would love to
5) Jump into the reloading thing for handguns at least.

Last but not least.....
6) Learn as much as I can about all areas of firearms
7) Enjoy the shooting sports at least as much as I have this year!

Get my CC license (recently took class & now need to mail paperwork)
Start CC once I get license
Start hand loading after I buy the gear (initially for .45 ACP)
Get some regular range time
Get a .45 LC lever rifle if I have a good year
