I was wonderin if walmart stocks 7.62x54 and how much does it cost because at dunhams were im getting the rifle there surplus ammo is $8 for 20 and i would rather just get non corrosive for like a dollar more.

different walmart stores stock different ammo as well. just because it's found at joe schmoe's store, doesn't mean you'll find it at yours. order online and in bulk...it'll likely beat any local price you find, even factoring in shipping.

you could just drive over there and see. you never know.

different states walmarts are different. texas rocks

I've seen it at my local wal mart, but it is usually commercial hunting ammo, and is a bit on the expensive side. Good news is you'll end up with some good brass if you plan to reload it...

FWIW. The Winchester is expensive but pretty accurate. Here is how the Winchester soft point shoots in my rifle at 100 yards.

I've got 5 Supercenters in a 25 mile radius of our Metro, but not everyone lives close to town. It's a legitimate question, and exactly why mail order/internet ammo is nice to have again.

Walmart is also retail - the best deals are online in bulk, where you beat the per round costs down below 50c a round. Better yet, a $200 reloading kit will make ammo for less than 30c a round - if you just reload it.

If you're stuck 25 miles from town in 15" of snow, you still have ammo.
