My nephew jammed my 380 trying to clean. I'm not sure why it will now not slide open and don't want to force. Can anyone suggest how to release. Appreciate any suggestions. Rick, Montana.

I;m new at this so hope I haven't posted numerous times. If so, sorry about that.

You're in the revolver forum, but that's OK. Some of us have seen an autopistol or two.

Are you fully confident that the chamber is empty? That's important.

Is the slide fully locked closed, or stuck partially open? There there a cleaning patch or a rag or anything wedged in there?

It's now in the semiauto forum.

You did, 3 additional times which have all been deleted. Please refrain from crossposting any topic in more than one forum.

We need to know what model it is.

If it is the TCP then make sure the internal key lock (security system) isn't engaged. It locks both the slide and trigger.

If that is not the problem, look at the take down pin. If put in incorrectly...it will lock up the slide. Make sure the barrel is all the way forward before inserting the pin.

Go to the TaurusArmed forum. Go down to the 700's section (assuming that it is the TCP) and there was a question a little while ago about this happening with a definitive answer. It was something very simple. Would look it up for you but it is really late and bed is calling.

Why I am not surprised. I don't understand why people keep trying Taurus. I have yet to find a thread that speaks highly of Taurus.

my PT145 did this once and it seems like i pulled the trigger before moving the slide. I think had to put pressure on the slide and pull the trigger to get it to move then remember not to pull it before pushing the slide forward. Can't remember for sure but it definately had something to do with the trigger mechanism position.
