MILLER: D.C.'s gun law deception

I play around a bit on the Lefty sites and blogs. I'll enjoy posting links to her articles when someone no doubt tries to blame the new DC gun laws for the crime rates or writes about how easy it is to get a gun in DC.

Wow just wow, in this day and age to have a entire law enforcement agency so bent on taking us/ the lawful gun owner down that they are willing ready and able to flat-out lie and spread missinformation, thinking no body would eventually check the facts just kills me to no end.
Small rant over. Thank-you for posting the information.

Good luck
God bless

This young woman is doing a pretty good job wielding the 1st Amendment in defense of the 2nd.

After reading her series for six months or so, I can't help but wonder whether the D.C. Police will ever stop making stuff up when Ms. Miller calls. They could just say they don't know the answers and recommend she talk to an attorney. They should know by now that she is going to publish their answers and the names of the officers giving false information. I don't want to be too hard on the officers; they haven't been exposed to the real 2nd Amendment in their careers. But it is their job to know the laws they are enforcing. Anyway, good for Ms. Miller and D.C.'s residents.

Wow.

First, and this will not be too popular on this board, but if there is anywhere in the country i can understand some restrictions on firearms, it would be in the nations capital. Of course in my mind the restrictions would be far less than what they actually are, but I can at least understand some basics.

Second, this is a perfect example of the mindset we deal with. They ignore the supreme court and federal law. So what are you going to do about it is the attitude they take. It is painful to think that people with that much power believe that you should not have the right to exercise your rights. But there they are. It sounds like though that at least the guy who wrote the rules is trying. But he may be powerless when his enforcement arm is basically pocket-vetoing the law.

no person is greater, or less, under the constitution. The idea that DC is more "sensitive" because if there being so many "important" people there is pure BS.

There has been only one human that was greater than all the rest, and the "powers that be" of the time murdered HIM.

Love this quote from her article...
Then I drove to Sharpshooters in Lorton, Virginia and arrived five minutes before it opened at 10 a.m. There was a line of about 25 people at the front door of the shooting range. Business is booming.
Business is booming. Is this a great country or what???

Once you allow downtrodden serfs a new found freedom, the old massa's tend to make things difficult at first, till they learn that the now armed citizens are NOT their enemy, even tho they were mistreated, lied to and handled poorly earlier on by the massa's in power.

Let's see. In Warren v. DC it was ruled that the po po have no responsibility to protect the individual citizen, yet the system is set up so that power and responsibility does not lie in the citizens hand, nor their elected representatives but instead it is the bureacrats who make up their own rules to supplement their own powers that one needs concern (and yet they get their budget from said elected officials... one would think they would listen to the hand that feeds them... maybe they are).

Oligarchy. In action.

So tell me again, how laws, and restrictions are going to stop CRIMINALS from using guns illegally? So the criminals will suddenly follow gun laws? Has it helped the violent crime rate, or crimes committed with a gun in DC since they were enacted?

I, for one, understand the point of view there. I will not disagree with that thought.
What I will say is that most of the country already has very fair gun laws, on the flat base of things. I would not want any more just because the high elite are around, but I would expect that the laws are more strictly enforced.
Not lied about, fabricated, and ignored as the locals see fit.

Well POTUS and a few others travel in tank-limos so maybe DC should be more concerned about their RPG laws than their gun laws. Yeah, that'll help.

It's easy to get a gun in DC. It's getting a legal gun that's hard.
