Any thoughts on this cartridge? I've shot some of the Aguila stuff in the past without any issues - less the funny smell. It always went bang in both revolvers and semi-autos.

I'm thinking about picking up 5,000 rounds. It's quite a bit less than CCI Stingers and still less than the CCI Mini-Mags. Planning on shooting it out of 10/22 and various revolvers & pistols. Seems to have a flatter trajectory and transfer more energy at further distances than Stingers.

Thoughts?

I thought I'd buy a couple of boxes and try it in your guns before buying 5,000 rounds.

I've got 500 rounds. Started testing about a week and a half ago with modified 10 22s, ended up with a loose scope mount on one of them. I was testing different twist rates for longer distance and haven't shot them thru a stock barrel yet. What kind of shooting do you do? One of my 10 22s is a basically stock stainless carbine, I could test a few under the conditions you are looking for this weekend (I hope).

One major difference between these and the SuperMax of Stingers is that they are 40 grain bullets. 1470fps is very fast for a 40 grain 22LR. Haven't looked at the charts on them yet, it will be interesting to see how far out they are before they break subsonic. The SuperMax 30 grains come down at about 90 yards.

Strictly punching paper & tin cans. Sometimes steel targets. I want something a little less affected by wind if I go out to 100 yards. I might just buy a few bricks before getting 5,000.

We shoot the Aquila Super maximum Hyper Velocity 1750fps .22lr caliber rimfire ammunition in the GSG 1911 and the CMMG uppers.

If you zero with this ammo and go back to a less peppy round depending on how accurate you want to be then you will need to re-zero. There is a noticeable increase in recoil and noise with this ammo according to my wife; so who am I to argue?!!

Just finished with testing. Probably going to just start a new thread on it since there are 3 kinds of ammo, 2 different barrel twist rates and a lot of targets I have to scan. All in allnnot a bad round. And they smell just like the SuperMax.

I shoot quite a bit of Aguilla SSS .60 grain ammo. So far it has been great no misfires no feed issues and very consistant. I have a brick of Super Max minus a few rounds but havent shot enough to give it a rating yet. I'm kinda stuck on the SSS as it is so quiet in my pump that I dont bother with ears just a little louder than my pellet gun. In my 10/22 it is much louder but still not bad.
This is my trapline load and has sent many critters on their way including hogs well over 200 lbs.
Great stuff.
