Hello,

Bersa's seem like a lot for the money. I always like the way they looked but was told about 9 years ago they're for the range only.

Has the reliability improved since then? Can it be depended on for CCW?

Long response not needed. Thanks.

I don't know what you mean by reliability! Mine has always worked perfectly and is 100% reliable.

The only problem I have with mine is the grip screws work loose after shooting. Also not really a problem because they say it is supposed to work that way but the slide closes by itself when a loaded mag is inserted.

My experience with Bersa is limited to the Thunder UC9, but it's all positive.

It's about the same size (a little thicker due to the safety and slide release, perhaps) as my other primary carry pistol, a S&W M&P40c. Both have been 100 percent reliable so far.

I am not sure if they have improved on the reliability or not.....as my (1982) Bersa 383A has been totally reliable....I'm unsure how that can be improved upon.
And, while it is not what I currently carry, I could depend upon it if need be.

Mine's 7 or 8 years old and never had any issue with it. The wife has since liberated it for her use. Guess that's a 2 thumbs up, huh?

I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 in IWB holster loaded with Corbon Pwrball 70 gr ammo and have complete confidence in it. :neener:

I have the Thunder 40 Pro and I carry it as my CC weapon. It has never given me a ftf or fte. Totally reliable imho! Love my Bersa's!

I have...oh I mean HAD a Bersa Thunder 40UC. It has too many rounds to count through it, and it has performed FLAWLESSLY! I'm looking for another because the wife took it :-(

Don't know if the quality has improved but it certainly hasn't gotten any worse.
Fair warning about any Bersa, when they do break, they are holy hell to repair!
One of the most frustrating actions I have ever had the displeasure of working on.

reliability

I would like to know who said they were for the range only and who said they were unreliable?

A fellow around late middle-age that worked at a indoor range/store. He said go for the Walther for carry. That's ironic as there were 7 years of production ppk models recalled.

Why am I not surprised! Of course the price difference wasn't a factor.

My Bersa Thunder .380 Deluxe has had a disconnector spring issue that took two trips to my local gunsmith. About $10 and an hour total wait time at my lgs and it has been perfect ever since. I get tighter groups with it than my friend does with his Glock 26.

Yes, I carry mine virtually everyday with no hesitation. My first round choice is the Corbon DPX with my back up round being the Winchester PDX-1.
