Anybody else notice Remington ammo prices going up and some even doubling in the Forth Worth CTD catalog from last month to this month?

Just curious what the word is through the grapevine. Doesn't appear to be a misprint.

Nope, haven't contacted Remington yet and can't get CTD on the horn tonight so thought I'd ask my fellow High Roaders.

Anybody have any input?

The places I normally order from are all still shipping at the same prices. The prices I'm seeing for Remington .40 S&W on CTD don't seem to have doubled (or if they did, then I missed out on a heckuva deal).

Not sure how many people have both catalogs to compare, but last month's catalog shows Remington UMC and Golden Sabre up considerably.

Everything except 9mm jhp 147 gr 50 count and .45 jhp 230 gr 50 count has gone up.

Many doubled. For instance: .40 GS jhp 165 and 180gr 25 count went from $14.79 to $29.28.

17 different types of ammo went up in price spontaneously.

Just curious if I missed an Obamion threat or something. (Obama)

Maybe Remington knows something they're not telling us?

I only buy .45ACP from CTD, and nothing I buy regularly has changed more than a couple cents, and those few cents are only seen when I check out because shipping rates went up.

Interesting. Is it Remington .45 you're buying?

This is just another year of election prices at CTD. I don't shop there anymore, ever since last go around when their prices were through the roof. They're gouging on fear.

That is their prerogative, but it's also mine to not do business with them.

Right. I've heard many a horror story, myself and I was there when they went ballistic on ammo prices during the Obama scare.

Curious why it's just Remington in their catalog that's gone way up, though.

Everything else is the same price it's been for months.

Probably just some sales/marketing scheme to reel-em-in and then shoot the price up unexpectedly, I guess.

Bummer. Was a fairly good deal last month on a lot of it.

Remington had to raise their prices for the Silencer Shoot in Dallas later this month they are supposed to have something like 190,000 rounds of ammo for AAC's booth :what:

Oh, that's right. I did hear something about that.

Isn't there a big IDPA match like a week before that or something somewhere in the semi-vicinity?

I got an order this week with a couple of different ammo selections, 9mm and 5.45x39. The AK ammo was the same as my last purchase and the 9mm was far lower than anything I can buy locally even on sale.

Cheaper than Dirt left a bad taste in a lot of shooters mouths the last election cycle and it appears from what you say they are getting a head start this time around! Price gouging and all this shipping from 3 different warehouse bull**** seems very shady to me.

Of course we all have free will and should have learned from their previous shenanigans to spend our hard earned money elsewhere. Many many different companies offer similar products, prices and services as CTD, why buy there?

Because it's CTD.....they'll rape you anY chance they possibly can.
Exactly. CTD gouged like mad last election cycle, no reason for them not to get an early start this time around.

I have to believe this company has no interest in our community, only their pockets.

Cheaper than dirt has had high prices ever since they started selling firearms. Ammo is no longer their core business and having the lowest price isn't a priority.

^ At what point does a company feel they have enough market share to turn on their loyal customer base?
Right after their loyal customer base feels comfortable enough not to compare prices?

I have the impression that Cabelas prices generally went about 4 years ago too....

Unfortunately for these online retailers, google shopping shows you everyone's price on most any product...and the variation can be a couple hundred percent. I was ordering 5K rounds of .22lr Rem subsonic a while back, and the prices were from 3-9 cents a round. For the same round!

Where else would we know which "VERY required" optional accessories we need?

So that they can have a "sale" next month and say "Was $28, NOW ONLY $21"...
See how "cheap" $21 looks now?

I decided not to ever buy from CTD after the first time I put something in my cart and then checked the shipping. I won't have anything to do with a company that does stuff like that.

Why do gun-owners think that there's something magical about gun shops, like the laws of commerce and greed don't apply? Yeah, Obama's a disappointment, and you guys let your emotions go and bite hook, line, and sinker on gun stores badmouthing government. These so-called gun-loving businesses who pretend to be "on your side" against "them" are screwing you with a smile on their face. They'll demonize anyone if it means more sales no matter what they sell. Why are prices going up? Because we're buying into the fear-tactics (something that works year round on the survivalist sub-culture, but I digress.) Don't blame the sellers, quit listening to them. Just use any of the on-line ammo-pricing sites and get what you want, or just wait out the insanity brought upon ourselves by our gun-loving brothers and sisters.

Cheaper than dirt
Home of the $70 .380 ammo box

"we got it and you don't...NANANANANAN"

yeah, so, what's new, they are unrepentant opportunist and some suckka still buys their crap.
