Put a ":" between "ban" and "knowledge," and add in a comma after "knowledge".

It seems silly to nitpick over the use of "socialist" while the punctuation remains incorrect. Besides, everyone knows that "socialist" and "communist" are used interchangably on gun forums to refer to anyone with whom the poster disagrees. :)
 
Sorry, gentlemen, I bow to your superior intellects and education. Please "ignore" me so I don't bother you any more. :)

Replace socialists with liberals, and put in the colon. Semicolon is used for something different than a list.

I like three things on my pizza: mushrooms, sausage, and green peppers.
My pizza looks bare; I should add mushrooms, sausage and green peppers.
I don't like plain pizza, so I think we should add mushrooms, sausage, and green peppers.
 
Odd, I thought I lived in a representative democracy. I disremember seeing the word liberal in the Constitution, perhaps I missed it. My bad.
