Marlin 1894 With Pistol Grip Stock?

I know some of the older (original version) models of the 1894 came with pistol grip stocks and curved finger levers. I seem to recall seeing photos of modern 1894's with pistol grip stocks but cannot find any reference to them anywhere.

I have a straight stock, modern 1894 in .45 Colt that I would like to someday convert to a pistol grip configuration if only I can find parts to do so.

I won't attempt it (even though my gunny says he has done the conversion by reforming the finger lever) if I can't find the proper parts.

Anyone know about modern pistol grip stocked 1894's?

The first 44 mag. Marlins were made on the 336 action. They quickly changed to the 94 action. The early 44's you saw were probably 336's. I might be wrong, but seem to remember seeing a few 94's with pistol grips that were made for a year or two not too many years ago.

You might be better off trying to find one of those. Any way you go about trying to convert the rifle you have is going to be expensive and would not be worth the price to me.

Your gunny must have forgotten there is way more too it then that.

The lower tang / trigger guard plate, and parts that attach to it like the trigger safety & spring would also have to be modified too.

The new Model 1894PG, in .44 Magnum/.44 Special, features a 20-inch barrel with Ballard rifling, an American black walnut pistol-grip stock with fluted comb, cut checkering, and a rubber butt pad. Sights are an adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear and ramp front sight with brass bead and Wide-Scan hood. The solid-top receiver is tapped for a scope mount and the rifle comes with offset right- or left-hand hammer spur for scope mounting.

The Model 1894FG, in .41 Magnum, features a cut-checkered walnut stock with pistol grip. The button-rifled, 20-inch barrel has a semi-buckhorn rear and a hooded ramp front sight. The receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base.

He didn't forget anything. He is an expert on 1894's and knows exactly what to do to convert to pistol grip stocks (either by modification and/or parts replacement). Our conversation on this went for 1/2 hour or so since the conversion isn't the only thing I want done with this rifle, only one small part of it.

And yes, it is quite expensive either way but the rest of what I want done will be expensive as well.
