They are ALL post ban and it made in the USA, do whatever you want with it--provided it's not a Califiornia compliant rifle.

Its my understanding that the term "post ban" generally refers to rifles made during the AWB of 94-04. I don't recall what all it prohibited but i think there were different allowable configurations as in you can have this or that but not both.
Anyways, just figure out what you want to change on it and ask about that specifically. You can essentially configure the rifle any way you wish so long as the barrel is >16" but even that is be doable if registered with the ATF and your local laws allow.

You'll need to have the barrel threaded for the flash hider. That's not a 'home gunsmithing' operation for most. The bayonet lug is a simple matter of swapping out the front sight, easily done at home with simple tools. However, if you are going to have to send it to the smith for threading anyway... it's not something you have to do.

Does the barrel have a break or compensator in place now? If so it may be pinned and welded on in which case the barrel is already threaded but getting the device off will be difficult at home. Also, to change the front sight post you will need to remove the muzzle device unless you cut it the current FS base off with a dremel and then install a clamp on like those made by Yankee Hill. It may be easier and even cheaper to just get a new barrel with or without FS already in place. DSA has 16" barrels on sale right now for $110. Of course you will also need a torque wrench and barrel nut wrench so after the cost of those you may be more than a gunsmith.
It's just a naked barrel. Only needs threading.
Bayonet lug isn't as important.
I don't want a 16" barrel.
Even if I did, then I'd also have to replace the gas tube and the handguards.
It's almost perfect as is. 20", A2 stock, fixed carry handle. It even comes with a scope mount and a cheap low power scope.

I was mostly referencing the DSA barrel as an indicator of how cheap barrels can be had for. Of course that one is not chrome lined and how accurate or long it will last is anybodies guess.

Replacing the FSB is the only option to get a bayo lug on that barrel, you could send it in to a gunsmith and have the FSB replaced and the barrel threaded. Depending on who you go to, this could be the cheapest route.
The other option is to purchase a barrel assembly with a FSB and barrel extension installed from a variety of places then put out a call for help on Arfcom's Homefront Forum for your state. Odds are someone with the tools to swap the barrel lives near you and would help you for a modest fee or even just for some beer. Then you could sell the old barrel and get some of your money back. One advantage here is you can get the barrel you want....from a USGI FN A2 barrel to a match barrel. You never know what might come up on the Arfcom EE.
Prices for AR-15 parts are starting to get stupid as the Election approaches so I wouldn't wait long.
