Need New Section just for RANTS.

In my older age I have really learned to just let things roll off the back and never look back. But lately I have really had several things that make me groan and change the channel or go to a different forum for information. I don't want to have anyone reply with a "Poor ole pitiful me" just sometimes you want to get something off your chest without distracting from more important issues that are here on THR. Therefore I recommend that new sub-forum be created just for Ranting. Ok that felt better already.
 
The place for rants is anywhere but the HIGH ROAD FORUMS, or so the moderators have told me.
 
Go ahead & rant. Then somebody can rant about your rant. Then somebody else can rant about ranting on rant threads.:evil:

I think if the rant is gun related it's OK. I could be wrong... ;)

It needs to be a civilized, non bashing High Road style rant tho.
 
And when they're finished reading your rant, expect the thread to be locked. That's why if I rant, I put a genuine question in with it, because when I do rant, it's usually because I'm having issues with a firearm. Any other subjects, I either find a different forum that pertains to that subject, or Facebook itself.

Join ARFCOM. Apparently that's what they use General Discussions for over there. ;) "I keed, I keed." Seriously, I'm not forum-bashing. Half of their membership thinks that GD is for heathens.

Apparently not... they banned me for what I guess you'd call a rant. It was about them, though......

Ok...I think everyone understands why we're not really going to do that, but I certainly can appreciate the need to vent sometimes.

However, I see people "rant/vent" here every week and a surprising number of them manage to focus that energy into something useful. There's no harm in expressing your frustration (politely, in PG terms please) in a thread here, so long as there is some actionable purpose to it.

A warning to others? A question and/or request for help/advice? That's all fine, even if you're wound up and angry about it when you start.

Of course, it always pays to remember that something like 75% of the things folks get frustrated and angry about are started and exacerbated by misunderstandings or mistakes of their own making! Other folks, 'specially those on forums (;)) just LOOOOVE to point that out. So if you're going to rant, better have a nice thick skin and a good sense of humor, 'cause usually you're waving your own butt in the air for everyone else to come plant a good natured boot print on it! :D

"Them doods on the news (or at my local gun shop, at this or that other internet forum, etc.) is STOOPID!11!111!!!!" isn't really something we can help you with, or that helps the board any, so please don't do that kind of thread. ;)
